Hi. I just got a call from a friend who wants to order 100 baby shower invitations. The theme is "A star in the making." I'm also going to do simple thank you cards for her to match the invites. I know this gal and she is inviting 100 people (about half will show). It's their first baby and they can afford anything. She's young and this is their first baby (it's a boy).
I've been searching for ideas, but anyone have any ideas? The shower isn't until February, but I need to start on them soon with the holidays here.
Please send your ideas.

Hmm. Do you have a cricut or other machine that could die cut stars? The invitation could be one big star with the info printed out on vellum and also die cut to match the cardstock shaped star. Stick the vellum on top of the star with a xyron machine. Minimum stamping (stamp some stars on the stars) or baby feet on the stars from "I'm Here" set.

Thank you!!!
First of all - I love the theme - very cute!
I like the idea of a star as the invite!
How about a Hollywood star walk of fame (whatever it's called) or a marquee Hollywood debut of a star?

I did a birth announcement for someone once with a similar theme. I used navy blue paper and cut it to be 5 1/2 x 7. I folded it the long way to make it a pocket card that was 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (A2). I secured the pocket with yellow eyelets (you could use brads). Then I used the EK Success folk star punch in a bright yellow and put them on the pocket card in various places. You could print on the yellow paper "A Star in the Making" and then have the actual invitation printed or stamped on a smaller piece of paper and put into the pocket. I also used navy blue ribbon at the top of the card. A little trick of mine is to attach a small piece of magnet (cut from a roll), so the invite can hang on the fridge. People love that added touch. Hope that helps get some ideas flowing for you. If you want to see a picture of the one I made I would be happy to send it to you.
Good Luck!
Rebecca
I still can't get over inviting 100 people to a baby shower. I guess its a whole different world! I really like Jailbirdstamper's idea of the Hollywood Walk of Fame star, or you could have some little feet under 'Baby Jones" (or whatever their name is) like they have the names & feet in cement in front of the Chinese Theater.

I made this card for a gals baby shower....she did not know what she was having so I included colors for both girls and boys. This would fit your theme though.
Hmmmm? I did a fast and easy card with stars... Star Birthday
I used some die-cut stars, sponged a glossy card with yellow and 2 shades of blue ink. Sparkly blue raffia (it looks black in the scan), embroidery thread, a few beads and foam tape finished it up. You would just need to use different words.
