My daughter wants a Hello Kitty Christmas party for her birthday. I just can't think of something clever to do for the invitations that will pull together the two ideas of Hello Kitty and Christmas. I found some cute Hello Kitty stuff at Target's dollar spot but that's as far as I've gotten. And oh yeah, her party is this Friday so the invites have to go to school with her this Monday. Any help would be so appreciated!!!Thanks!
I happen to LOOOVE Hello Kitty ... LOL! I would totally love my 37th birthday party to be Hello Kitty. ANYway...
Here are some ideas...
Make the invitations just plain white, decorate with a Hello Kitty sticker and Hello Kitty's signature red bow with a bit of stamped greenery behind the bow or even some fake greenery tied into it.
Do you have Photoshop? I have some Photoshop shapes that I can send to you if you do and that would make it easier to make the invites maybe. If not, maybe I can think of another way to send them.
How about some Hello Kitty ornaments they can make for party favors.
Sizzix has the cutest Hello Kitty dies so if you (or know someone who) has a Sizzix they may have them - too cute. You could do a big Kitty face and the bow can be any color (or Christmas Paper).
I've seen the Sizzix Hello Kitty dies at Michael's and Joann's, so they're (currently) fairly easy to find. You could use one of them to make the decorations and favors. One of the dies is a large Hello Kitty face which you could cut multiples of to make a garland to hang for decoration.

A lot of japanese websites have cute food ideas using Hello Kitty. I'm all over anything HK as I've been collecting it since I was 4!
You can make HK shaped cookies, rice balls, eggs, cheese slices, etc. You could make a party appetizer plate inspired by these: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pkocere...7594253078594/
Party stores usually have a lot of HK these days, but vintage is harder to find, yet the vintage stuff is usually red which would be good for xmas.
Maybe you could have the kids make a craft like this with pom poms and stuff from the craft store: http://shop.sanrio.com/hello-kitty-w...efault,pd.html
As for invitations, I'd go simple, just a red background, HK's face, and maybe holly leaves and berries in place of her bow.
HI!
I just made an invitation for my daughters birthday using the Sizzix Die Cut. I had given the kit to make the card as part of my 'blog candy' last month. You can see the card in the group at http://crazystampinwomen.typepad.com...log-candy.html
I loved how it turned out, but it is VERY time consuming.
Have Fun!
Nancy
you could make plain pink or white invitations and add the hello kitty ribbon walmart sells
