I need a stamping retreat, convention, etc. to run to that isn't too too far from the Wash DC area. I've done some internet research and found one that I went to last year in Ocean City, but that isn't until May.
Sometimes stampers organize weekends away at a bed and breakfast just to stamp. Anyone know of anything happening in the next month or so???

desperate woman

So you're a little stir crazy too, huh?! I know of one at the end of March/early April in Pennsauken, NJ (not sure if that is too far though...) and that same group has one in MD in September (way too far away!) Here's the link http://www.stampscraparttour.com/ so you can check it out.
Thought of another option - there's a place in Lancaster, PA that has weekend retreats for scrappers/stampers. Again, not sure how far you want to go or what their availability is, but here's another link to check out! http://www.localmemories.com/scraphouse.htm
Joan,
I know it's still a little ways off, but there is a SU! regional seminar in Virginia Beach, VA on April 20 & 21. Maybe you can hook up with someone & get registered. The registration opens up March 7th.

It's too bad you are so far away from Ontario Canada, but I do this EVERY weekend with my SIL. My DH is so very good about it..and as long as I'm up there in my little corner of the world, I'm not thinking of chores for him to be doing..so we both win....
Of course, I have no kids at home now, so am very fortunate to be able to do this every weekend...I go all week long after work, to get all the housework caught up, and even plan a crock pot lunch for Sat and Sun, so I don't have to stop long for lunch.....Now that's addicted.!!! LOL
Happy Valentine's Day.
LOL! Joan, you can just organize one for yourself! I do this at least once a year! I go to a nearby resort city that has very inexpensive prices for hotels during the fall and winter months and give myself a retreat! I either take stamping stuff or scrappin stuff and spend the whole time doing whatever I want! Good luck finding a retreat, you deserve it!

Busted! My husband just saw this thread!!! LOL Anyway, I'm going to look into these suggestions, with the exception of the kind offer of Ontario -- which sadly, is a bit too far. Every weekend!!?? You must already be in heaven...

Crop classix does scrap weekends. I think they are doing one in Dover DE fairly soon. It is a scrapbook weekend but I just went to the one in Cape May, NJ and brought all my stamping stuff. it was a fun weekend away.
I've been to the scrapstamparttour show. It's lots of fun!!! But VERY dangerous to the wallet !!! Plus Inky Antics is always there with all their cute little stamps!!!!

Hello Desperate Woman Joan! I just told my kids last night (as they fought all the way home from school) that I was running away. Anywhere would be fine, so I wouldn't have to listen to them, I said I was going to move to the forest...the fighting turned to hysterical laughter because we currently live in a forest! I'm so burned out I can't even make a decent threat.
I must say though that I have found one stampin' and one scrappin' friend in these mountains and each Thursday we spend 3-4 hours at the local LSS working on projects. It is HEAVEN. It gets me out of the house, away from my "to-do" list and it gets me back on track. Perhaps this solution could work for you in the interim until you pack-up for a more robust destination.
Joan, let me know where you end up going, I wanna go too, I am pretty close, maybe we can get together sometime soon! I am down in St. Mary's County, MD.

Joan,
Let me know if you decide to go to the one in MD. I know where Westminster is- about and hour west of where I am. Of course, it's in September, so that's a long way off.
I know! I know! come to Houston and stamp with me! I'll provide all the supplies and room & board. All you have to do is buy your airline ticket. I'll even pick you up from the airport. I'm sure flying from DC to Houston is really, really cheap! Just do it!
Lynn, I'm in Sykesville, so can you give me some details about the one in Westminster in Sept? I haven't heard of it!! I must be living under a ROCK!!! Thanks in advance. Karen

Click on the link in post #2. It's not a SU event, if that's what you were thinking. Sorry.
I wish you were closer and we would have one together! I am 39 weeks preggo, on bedrest, and about to go crazy!! DH is going to fix me a little spot in the kitchen where I can prop my feet up and stamp though!!
I have an open crop night the ast Friday of each month. Just a night to come and play-shall I count you in Joan?;)
(and anybody else who wants to drive over!!)
(you KNOW Annapolis is not that far at all!!!)

I need a retreat too!!!! I am in Chester County, PA (snow & ice country right now!) & actually not far from Lancaster area. NJ, MD are not a far drive at all.
Thanks for all the links to some of these cool events.
Joan are you going to the Ocean City, MD event in May? Looks like fun!
