I am trying to watercolor some images for my SIL's baby shower. I am using Basic Black for the stamped image on Confetti White CS. I stamped the images yesterday afternoon and when I just went to color them in the black ink started bleeding. I am using the Watercolor crayons - don't know if this makes a difference or not.
Basic Black is ONLY waterproof on Whisper White & Very Vanilla cardstock. If you want to watercolor on anything other than those two types then you'll need to use Stazon. I don't even recommend it anymore to my customers since most people use sturdier CS for watercoloring. It's silly because the only paper good enough for watercoloring in the Confetti, Shimmery & of course, the watercolor paper. It doesn't have anything to do with your WCC's it's just the ink & paper are not working together. So sorry.
I have found that even on the Very Vanilla and Whisper White, it still runs. I was not a happy camper! I even tried heat setting it, nothing worked. Your best bet is to use Stazon.
Do you have any matte spray on hand (it's a sealer that a lot of crafters use)? if so, you can lightly spray your paper - after you stamp your image - and it will seal the ink so it doesn't run. You can do this with black and any color ink pad. It will also seal the ink of the wheel. It also gives your paper a light "coat" so the color blends better, and easier, and keeps the paper from grabbing the liquid and warping and pilling.
I use Krylon Matte Spray - usually found with the spray varnishes, etc. Not very expensive and lasts forever. Hope this helps!
