I won an auction on ebay for two sets of petal points. They were shipped with no protection, just shoved into an envelope and they arrived damaged. All the petals are off!! Does anyone know if they can be glued back down and how?? The seller refuses to refund my $$ and I really wish i knew how to fix it:-(
Thanks in advance for any help!
rubber cement might work. It helped with a classic SU pad and an Ancient Page pad.
What a sloppy shipper. Can you give them a bad rating for poor packaging? Sometimes the PO will destroy the best-packaged items, but to shove petal points in an envelope doesn't make good sense. Was it at least padded?
The envelope was not even a padded one..Can you believe it!!??
Just your standard flat rate envie. She says sorry..was fine when it left me..and all sales are final...grrrr.......
Were these SU Petal Points? If I remember right these pop in and out. I would experiment with them (don't be afraid to get your fingers dirty) before trying glue. I'm surprised that the plastic covering wasn't destroyed.
I agree with the post that you need to leave bad feedback. Not only did he/she fail to package the product properly, but it arrived in a condition different from what was advertised, and he/she's unwilling to make things right. I would maybe even see if you can report this person to ebay (I have no idea how anyone does this...)
Be prepared for retaliatory feedback, because sketchy sellers often withhold feedback till the buyer posts their own and then smear the buyer, but as long as you are completely factual and objective (breakable item shipped with no padding, arrived damaged, contacted seller but they refused to refund) then anyone who reads what they write about you can see that they're just being spiteful.

Sellers can't leave negative feedback for buyers anymore. I would definitely leave negative feedback for the seller. She should have taken reasonable care to make sure that your items arrived safely. IMHO, shipping them in a flimsy envelope with no padding is hardly reasonable care.

They can't? NICE! Well, not so much for sellers dealing with shady buyers, but still...
It's been a while since I bought or sold on the 'bay -- when did this change? Can sellers at least leave neutral feedback for problematic transactions?

I've had a couple of petals fall off from my chalk ink sets as they've aged so I just glued them back on. Yes, you do get colorful fingers. :-) Can't remember what glue I used, though - I think it was Diamond Glaze (which is like Crystal Effects) - just used a little, pressed gently then let it dry for a couple hours and they've held well. Good luck with it!
And yes, you should leave negative feedback since it was packed so poorly. As Scrapjanny said, Ebay recently changed the system so that the seller can't leave negative feedback for a buyer so you don't have to worry about retaliation.
Rachel - Ebay changed feedback in May (I think). Sellers can't leave negative or neutral feedback but Ebay has policies to protect sellers from bad buyers.
