I found a fabulous tutorial the other day and now can't remember where it was! I've made my piece without it, but would love to watch it again. I'm thinking it was Barbara Gray of Clarity stamps...oh....now I'm sure it was. Maybe I will go find it again! It was double sided adhesive sheet of paper cut to size. You peel one side of the paper off and stamp directly onto the adhesive paper. Then you take gilding flakes and rub in to the sticky paper. Then you peel off the other side of sticky paper and put a clear window sheet over it. I will attach a picture. I bought a multicolored gilding flakes and it came out gorgeous in real life.
If it wasn't that long ago, and you watched in on your computer, hit Control-H to bring up your history. In Chrome, you can search your history. You might be able to find it that way.
That was a very cool video, Kathy! I was never big on gilding, but I may have to give that a try.
Watch the Alium one too Lois. Awesome fun. I bought a few sheets of Amy's Ocean Blue Leaf at my LSS today. Its a mixture of the colors. It's from Amy's Magic in West Leechburg PA. I'm going to do more of these. I picked up some good sheets of double sided adhesive today too.
It does look good with clear glitter! I haven't tried any colored glitter but it may not show the image if your colored glitter is too strong. I had no idea you could stamp on it he's of sheets either! I bought some at my LSS yesterday. The sheets I bought are heavy. I am not sure it would work with some of the thinner sheets I had. The stamps need cleaned a little better because of the stickiness of the adhesive sheet but it isn't a problem to get them cleaned.
Couldn't you just stamp on the acrylic sheet and stick it down on the adhesive? I could picture me having lots of trouble stamping on the adhesive. Am I missing something?

You sure could, but it's a slippery surface. I've always had a hard time not sliding or smudging when trying to stamp on a clear or glossy sheet. and then there's the time needed while the ink dries, because it's totally sitting on the surface. A heat gun will help, but because it's a plastic surface, that's going to need to be done carefully, too.
Stamping into the adhesive and then putting the acrylic over it seems like it'll be a bit tricky, too, so there's that ...
but what a beautiful affect when it's done! So glad OP was looking for the video!

If you stamp on the window sheet, your image will be backwards when you put it down. I guess it would depend on what image you are using, but believe me, the adhesive sheet does not cause a problem with your stamp. Just clean it when you are done.

You know, if you wanted to create a mirror image (critters facing each other, trees being reflected in water, etc), you could do both, couldn't you? Oooh, this could be fun!

I personally wouldn't want any image stamped on top of the window sheet because of smearing tendencies whenever it gets touched. I guess if you used staz on, it might work. And that's an interesting idea. If you try it, please post a pic!
Well, that would require my figuring out the whole 'upload' and gallery thing, wouldn't it? You can tell by my extensive gallery collection how excited I am to learn that whole bit. ;) (Maybe someday, when I'm feeling like I've got something that's actually share-worthy, I'll cross that technological bridge.)

You are too hard on yourself! Your gallery is calling.....upload. upload. upload! LOL
I believe if you stamp with Stazon on acetate you can remove it with an alcohol wipe if you make a mistake or it smudges and you want to try again. I haven't tried this myself but have seen Jennifer MacGuire remove Stazon from acetate or window sheets using the little alcohol wipes.
After watching the two videos I would love to give this a try. I'm just wondering if there is anything special about the Clarity Stamps adhesive sheets. I have some of the Elizabeth Crafts double sided adhesive sheets. Would these work the same? Anybody use the Clarity Stamps adhesive sheets?
I would love to try this but how do you attach it to your card? Tape runner, mono?
I haven't gotten that far yet! LOL That's a good question. I would think once the flakes are rubbed in well you should be able to glue it down with tombow mono multi or maybe add another adhesive sheet. As long as you don't try to peel it back up once it's glued it should be ok.
I used the tombow and so far it is holding well. BUT, when putting the tombow glue down, do NOT touch the surface of the flakes. I have scratch marks on my card! Not real noticeable, but I went to all that work, I sure wouldn't want to waste the gilding flakes. They aren't cheap. I will post a picture of the card in a minute.
