Question Help w/ getting started on my 1st scrapbook . . .

I have been stamping for a few years now, but my main interest has been making cards.

I have finally decided to start on my first scrapbook! I am so excited, but I would like some advice from those of you have done it before! The theme for my scrapbook is my son's school day/years. I have already gathered all the photos, report cards, awards, etc. Now what do I do? I would appreciate any tips that would make this process go smooth and give me the end result that I hope to achieve (preserving his school days/years in chronological order).

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Your nexgg step will be to seperate all of the pictures and other stuff into chronological order. Decide what you want to go together. I like to make two page spreads. FOr example gather everything from kindegarten and put them on a two page layout. You can check out www.twopeasinabucket.com for some great ideas. I like to use themed paper and embellishments to add to my pages. Good Luck.

Default help with

Well I would decide where I am starting...choose colors that compliment the pics whether it be background or in stickers or to mat pics just lay out the pics in different arrangements til one strikes you .. think of journaling if you are doing that, so you save a space for that and starting adhering ...HAPPY SCRAPPING...it is a great hobby.very rewarding to LOOK back...

Thanks for the tips. I already have everything in chronological order, just going to double check everything before I actually start. I like the two page spread idea, except I know some grades and/or activities may need more than just two pages - definitely keeping it in twos though. I have bought my papers and a few embellishments, but I think I need to order some more stuff.

Totally forgot about journaling, the question is can I remember that far back  it has been a few years. My son graduated last year! I thought I better get this done, before I wait to long. This is something I have wanted to do for years! STarted once, but just never got to putting it together.

Going to go check out twopeasinabucket for layout ideas; also thought I would look through some of the CM magazines I have bought.

We are leaving for vacation in a few days, so I will not actually start scrappin' till I get back.

Good Luck! I love scrapbooking.

If you are doing 12X12 albums and don't think you have enough for a 4 page spread you can insert 1 81/2X11 in the middle of your 2 page spread and have the extra room but not run over onto more pages.

Clear as MUD?
