Default HELP..WHAT AM I DOING WRONG--ACRYLIC BLOCK...

This is my first time using an acrylic block. I'm using the javabella stamp and for some reason when I press down: either the image is not stamping all the way or some spots are really dark. What am I doing wrong. How much pressure do you use? If I don't use enough---I don't get the full image. If I press down to much it comes out too dark. Please help, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...I'm getting frustrated. TIA!

Using an acrylic block is no different than using a wood block when it comes to pressure or technique. I would suggest that either something is wrong with the stamp, the foam under it, or the inking.

The pressure for unmounted rubber should be the same with an acrylic block (clear stamps however may need a lighter touch). I would first try rubbing the stamp on a brown paper bag and cleaning well in case there is any residue from the mfctring process. If you are using sticky tape (and no extra cushion with the bella) -- you may also want to stamp on top of a mouse pad or foam. By the way I just started using "Tack'n Peel" with my acrylic blocks -- it is genius for temp mounting and provides a bit of cushion. good luck

It's working better now. Thanks! Just not use to the flat acrylic block and it's a big image. Practice, practice, practice---LOL!!!

I did stamp on top of the mousepad and found it better. Thanks!

I used to have this problem.

What are you mounting the Bellas with? Using EZ mount will give you the best stamped image. When I used Tack It Over and Over my stamped images would be very uneven due to the uneveness of the glue itself when applied.
