yeah! I'm not kidding! You know how the old backgrounds had space to spare on the wood mount? Well... that has always kind of annoyed me a little bit because the rubber was **just** big enough to fit on a quarter sheet of cardstock with not much room to spare. The rubber image goes all the way to the ends of the block! No more getting annoyed because I just missed imprinting the edge of the paper by a 1/16 of an inch!
Oh boy! This is just the best thing ever!!!! REALLY! I mean - this totally ROCKS! Thanks SU for making that small improvement! This is just the coolest thing!
(Ok... can you tell I've been playing with all my new background stamps?!?!!!)
I wish they would allow everyone that purchased the CANVAS bg to return and get it replaced....it is very frustrating to "miss" stamping on my cards. I have wasted quite a few pieces of CS!

I second that. Frustrating!

I third the motion on the Canvas BG stamp. Very frustrating that it does not cover the entire card front. I agree that they should be bigger and replaced for free!! It is obviously smaller than my French BG

Maybe we should start a letter-writing/email campaign to SU and see if they respond?
Oh darn - now I need to add the BG stamps to the top of my list. LOL
Thanks for the info!

FYI- someone on another thread about the canvas BG stamp being too small said she wrote SU, and they said they would replace it with a new (bigger) one. Just to talk to your demo about it. Hmmm....might have to talk to mine!

Let us know if you do and what they say. I think it is definitely worth a try. So glad they made them bigger. Wish my French Script was a littler bigger also.

WOW!!! Great news! I have been so frustrated by that stupid 1/4 inch! I thought I was just a BG flunky. I'm so going to talk to my demo about this!!
(So glad I logged on even though I'm up too late as usual and really ought to get to be and shouldn't be getting an SCS fix when I really have to get up and work tomorrow but had to check in really quickly to see what I was missing! Ahhh I've just been intermitently rewarded. Click, click, click... I can't stop!!!)
The Fine Lace I just mounted is almost too big for the block. It's on the same size block as the Canvas I got two months ago, but the image is much much larger.
Just a hint for those stuck with the old background stamps. I've always inked up the stamp and then set it (rubber side up) on the table. Then I lay my piece of c/s on top and press down on the cardstock. That way, I can tell exactly where the rubber is and I waste less c/s. Hope this helps some of those stuck with the old measurements.

Isn't it just tragic that we're stuck with the old little ones? I guess that is just life.
Here is a tip. Ink your background stamp and then lay the CS on it directly. Then flip it over and press it down like you normally would. This will help it be lined up everytime.
I called ds after reading this thread. They said they would replace canvas but nothing else. My ds gal is sending a whole new one and making me return old one. However, I've heard others sya they are just sending new rubber. So give ds a call.

This is strange...my demo called DS and they said the new BG stamps are not bigger! They said the rubber is the same size, and some of the blocks were different sizes??!! This is weird, since some of you are getting way different answers from DS. Why are they not being consistent when answering this question????
