The balloon stamp is colored with three different stampin' write markers -- one color for each balloon. After you color the rubber stamp directly you need to breathe on the stamp to activate the ink and then stamp.
I am having trouble getting the string into the hand of the beaver. I also am glad to know to breathe onto the stamp, I didn't do that, but will next time.
The beaver looks like he is reaching for the ballons..
The only way I found to perfectly align 2-step stamps is with a Stamp-a-ma-jig ($11.95 on page 222 of the idea book and catalog). With this tool you align an imaging sheet in one of the corners of the SMAJ and then stamp onto the imaging sheet by inserting the stamp into the corner as well. This shows you the placement if the stamp if you have it exactly in the corner.
Next, you take the imaging sheet and place it over the stamped image of the beaver until the ballloons are exactly where you want them. Being careful to keep the imaging sheet in this spot, place the SMAJ against the imaging sheet in the sam corner as before. Then, being careful to keep the SMAJ in the same spot, take the imaging sheet away and stamp the balloons onto your card. You should have perfect allignment.
The SMAJ is a lifesaver for people who want perfect alignment. I don't know how I stamped without mine. If my directions don't make sense, do a search in the forums and there is a great tutorial with pictures, I believe by KraBearkub.
