Here's a card I'm doing for a Stamp Camp this weekend. It was suppose to have polyshrink and wire, but I've given up on the wire. I polyshrinked the marshmallows. I hate polyshrink and wire. What was I thinking when I promised to come up with a card invloving these two ingredients??
Anyway, do you think this card is Stamp Camp worthy? It just seems a little simple to me to be "Stamp Camp worthy". What do you think? Is it missing something? I know the saying should be a little more to the left. Am I thinking too hard?
I think your card is great! As far as adding wire--If you wanted to use that embellishment you could add it to the "handle" of one of the cocoa mugs, shaping it the same shape as the handle. Attach it by piercing a very tiny hole with the piercing tool in the Crafter's Tool Kit or a needle you have around the house at the top and bottom of the handle. Thread the wire through to the back side, folding a small amount over on the back side to hold the wire in place on the front. (Does this make sense?)
Girl...this card is super cute! What would you do with the wire anyway? I think with stamping and cutting out 3 sets of marshmallows if you add wire you'll run into a time factor. You've got 5 layers plus coloring plus polyshrink and it all looks fab together. I say stop here.
I think it looks great. I am a new demo so I don't know how far my thought would go. If you are like me we can be alittle to critical of our work. I don't feel that it is simple. To much embellishment seems cluttered to me. I hope I can be that creative. I hope it happens soon. Good luck and don't be so hard on yourself.
I think it is very cute-if you feel the need to add wire, maybe have the middle mug NOT have polyshrink marshmallows, and instead poke 3 tiny holes and have them have wire "steam" come out of just that middle mug. They can have the choice of wire or polyshrink (and steam is not hard to make )

LOVE that idea! Now I want to get this set just to do that! :!: :!:
Very cute! Love the shrinky dinked MMs...gonna CAS it.
If and that is a big IF you have to add wire, just make a circle clip and attach it to the panel with the MM's on it. People love making the clips in different shapes. Be sure to hammer them once they are formed to the shape they want so they don't bend back out.
The only thing that I would change is not stamping the "floating MMs" underneath the cup panel. It doesn't look like they belong there. Maybe reverse the cups and the saying? Other than that, very cute card! Totally SC worthy.
(just my opinion on the floating MM's.don't take it wrong )
Ok, I'm not adding the wire, but I did make a few changes! I agree about the big marshmallow not looking so great. Also I switch the colors I stamped the images in from black and not quite navy to basic brown and chocolate chip. I'm attaching both cards for comparison sake. It's hard to tell from the scan, but the mini-marshmallows are also in basic brown. You can tell IRL.
I realized after I was done that I'm actually using several techniques in this card: spotlighting, watercoloring, polyshrink, and using the stamp-a-ma-jig.
By the way, this is suppose to be an "advanced stampers" stamp camp. So I don't feel too bad about introducing all these techniques and gadgets on one card.
I love the simple change you made in the second card...very interesting looking at how that changed the overall look of the card. I would show them both to the group. The second one is my pick though! I agree with a previous post, that if you wanted to add wire, you could make those curly clips.
I love them both! I just wanted to add that as a non-demo, stamp-camp addict, I tend to like the more simple projects - the ones that shout, "WHAT??? That only took 3 minutes??? I have to buy that!!!" LOL!
I would show them both also and give them the choice... I thought the first one was great until you posted the 2nd card ;) The 2nd one is so much "brighter" I think!
Thanks ladies! You have all been so helpful. DH says he likes the first one better. I don't know why I keep asking him. He's color blind...literally!! I will do as some of you suggest and give them the choice of the layout, but I will keep it brown.
I'm off to take a shower...at 2 in the afternoon!
