Default Hoping to Get Published? Don't Despair!

I just got the Stamper's Sampler Catch Up issue in the mail today. I had two cards published in it . . . one that I submitted about a year and a half ago, and one that I had submitted for a challenge that was published in the August 2004 issue. That means I would have sent them the card in early 2004 or even the end of 2003. That's over three years ago!

So you just never know when those masterpieces you submitted will finally get printed, but you may be pleasantly surprised.

Wow...I never realized they might hang onto a submission that long.

Congrats to you!

So...they never told you they were publishing your card??? EVER? Did you send in the card itself for publication or just a photo??? Most magazines only want a photo to start with...maybe I should relax...I am bummed because it has been one month and I have heard nothing yet...(patience is a virtue...

that I don't have!)

Congrats on your publication.

Oh, don't tease!!!!

I sent in four cards to that magazine over a year ago, for the different colors/same format kind of challenge. I thought they were really kind of good, and spent forever on 'em, and never submitted anything before or since and just thought ...

Now, if stuff gets published years later, I could get my hopes up again ... just like the "what mini sets are going to make the new catty" thread - all talking about Polka Dots and Posies and Cowboy Kid and ...

I've got to get my head out of the clouds here on SCS!!!

But, CONGRATS TO YOU!!!! Really, that must be such a great feeling. Do you have a link/picture so we can all ooooooooooh and aaaaah you work?!

I've only ever submitted to Stampington Publications (Stampers' Sampler, Take Ten). They don't accept photos, only cards. They've published nine of my cards over the years, and they've never let me know in advance. I just get the nice surprise of a free magazine in the mail, or on one occasion, seeing my card in the magazine and then phoning them for the free copy (good thing I was watching!).

All I can say is to keep trying and don't give up hope. Who knows when they'll get around to publishing your masterpieces!
