Default How about a stamp library?

Okay, I was laying in bed last night thinking about a baptism card I have to make, but I don't have any stamps that would fit (and I don't really want to spend the money on a stamp I'll use only once)...so, I was thinking ~ wouldn't it be great it there was a stamp library somewhere that we could "check out" stamps and use them for a week or two and then return them, just like books?

What do you ladies think? Am I a genius or wishful thinker? ;)

Yes!! That would be such a neat concept! There are so many sets that I'm on the fence about because I can think of a great card or a great scrapbook page to do with and know that that would be it. There are a lot of SU sets where I absolutely love ONE image but not the rest of the set, so having the possibility to go to a stamp library would solve that problem.

Of course, just like with popular books, we would be on endless waiting lists for the popular stamps... ;)

I think that would be great! Before we moved, I was lucky enough to have a lot of friends that also stamped. We borrowed each other's stuff all the time. I started making one extra card with the borrowed set each time, and gave it to the person who loaned the set, as a thank you.

What about clothes for that matter. There are many outfits that I just want to wear once. How about I can check them out instead of buying them. Wouldn't that be nice if we could do that for everything!! LOL.

This would be great for me because I am not picky about my stamps.....but some people are. If the smallest patch of ink is on the rubber.....they freak! And lets not even get started on the BLOCK itself!

I think that'd be a great idea! Like books and videos! Maybe that'll happen one day?

I was also wondering about stamp image swaps. Do any of us do that here? I think I'd like that but don't know where to look or ask.

Wonderful ideas!!! My neice in Ohio has a "toy library" for her kids. That way they have new toys every two week without costing her a fortune. And if they really LOVE a toy, Santa may just bring it for them (that way she knows it will be used)! What an awesome idea ...

Now for stamps ... that would be great! I also love the idea of a stamped image swap. I'm in if one kicks off!!!

A LSS used to let you use their stamps in the store for a nominal fee. They discontinued that when many stamps "walked away." Too bad. But it's a great idea!

This is why I started doing the stamped images trade...I needed a few horses for a project, but had absolutely no interest in owning the set. Same with office ephemera. Post something on the BST or general board and offer up something to trade, stamped images that you have of some doodads. I would love something for a communion card for this weekend, hoping my demo has something friday night.

Judy ~

I have a "praying hands" stamp that I really like. I can scan it tomorrow and email it to you if you like. PM me if you're intersted!
