I was wondering yesterday how big everyone's gallery is? I have 357 creations in my gallery and I have 2 more I am ready to upload tomorrow. I was thinking I should make a goal of 500 for April 23 which would be a year since my first upload. Am I crazy? Or am I just addicted to coming up with something new and getting feedback?
So how many do you have in your gallery? And how long have you been uploading? If you don't have a gallery yet, what's stopping you?
Not to be rude, but I have to ask why you delete things from your gallery. I thought the reason for uploading was to share our creations and be inspired from different people's work. I would be very disappointed to have seen something and want to go back and look at it only to find that it was gone.
I have very few in my gallery - mainly from VSN's. I case most if not all my cards so no real reason to upload them. I hope someday to create my own stuff and upload it to share. Until then I enjoy everyone elses.

I too prefer to be selective. I'm planning on deleting a bunch of stuff from my gallery too . . . anything that's redundant, a poor scan, not my best work. I view the gallery as a showcase for fresh art, and not a storage facility for everything that I do. For example, as Martha said, if I CASE a card, I don't see any point in uploading it (unless I've added a fresh twist).

Wow! I'm surprised that a stamper would regularly delete a picture from their gallery. What if someone has saved it to their favorites and goes back to view it later while stamping and it's no longer there.. wait, I think that's happened to me. Maybe I know why now.
I've thought about deleting some of my early work thinking it's not good, but we're all in different stages of our stamping. Some of my simple cards may be appreciated by a new stamper while some of my more detailed new work may be overwhelming to a new stamper. I have finally decided not to delete anything unless SCS asks for us to be careful on the number in our galleries.
I don't have too many in my gallery~66. I have gone in a deleted a few in the very beginning because they didn't get comments. I figured they weren't too good. Now, that I've been here a while I see it more as a chance to see where I have grown and changed as a cardmaker and scrapbooker. I too would be sad to see something from my favorites missing. Thanks for sharing your perspective. I won't delete anymore either. :-)

I have 105. I agree we should leave the artwork in the gallery! Not only is it fun to go back and see how our tastes/stamping abilities have changed, but it's nice for people of different abilities to have different samples to look at.
I will challenge myself with you, Jen! I won't get to 500 by April 23, so my goal is 200! This will be fun!
I have somewhere around 110 pics of my work in my gallery. I plan on uploading a few more things this week. There are somedays that I want to delete some of my cards (especially the one that didn't get ANY comments :() b/c I feel like I don't know what I was thinking when I made them, but I like to compare them to the much better ones I've done
I have 64 cards. I've been looking for a long time. My kids got me a scanner for my birthday in Oct. But then I didn't know how to upload cards. The kids had to show me. I uploaded my first card Nov. of 2005. I have some that I like and some that I don't. I was really nervous about putting one of my cards out there. The first one was the hardest, it gets easier the more you do it. Everyone has different tastes, what one person likes another doesn't. I keep hoping I get better and better. Everyone here does such a great job, some days I don't feel worthy.

Oh fun! I'm going to be checking out all your great work
I have 415! Ooops! I hit the wrong set in the poll...is there any way to change my answer? Also, I keep everything in my gallery...to date anyways. I like to see how far I've come in the past year My first upload was March 2nd last year...maybe I'll make it to 450 by the anniversary.

I have no idea how to change an answer! Sorry!
Great challenge! I'll be looking for your new works of art

I have 135 in there now and my first upload was July 28th last year.
I don't agree with deleting your artwork for the same reasons I don't agree with RE-doing scrapbook pages. It really bugs me when someone takes so much time to make pages (or cards) when they are first beginning and then as they progress they feel they need to update them and "make them better". Why? They were good when you did them, why aren't they good anymore? Just different from what you make now. I just don't see how that's a bad thing, it shows growth in your art. OK getting down now, this is just a subject that irks me greatly.
Hmm..well, I differ on this. I upload everything and did delete some early stuff once, but I think it's cool to see how far you've come and won't do that again. I agree, I would hate to have something saved as a favorite and then not be able to find it later!
Sorry if I have too many, but that's just the way I roll.....right now there are 675 in mine. And darned if I can't catch up with mamak, not that it's my goal or anything, but she always has about 100 more than me, lol!
I also prefer to be selective and tend to be like-minded on this.
I hope that new stampers and those that have been afraid of uploading their creations don't take this and some other posts the wrong way.
All stampers are in different stages of developing and growing as a stamper. Don't hesitate in uploading a work of art. The feedback will help you grow. And a little plug for weekly challenges... they are welcome to all stampers. They really push you to think out of your comfort zone. You will also get more feedback/comments. There have been times that a card I made didn't appeal to me and I was surprised at the amount of positive feedback I received. And there have beem times that I loved a card and it didn't get much of a response at all. But I grow from both types of experiences.
Although I believe that members should only upload CASEd cards that have been changed in some way, I don't believe in being "selective". Take a risk. Put yourself out there. Grow as a stamper.
Being new to stamping it was very intimidating to put my cards out there, I think I have 7! VSN got me going and I added one last week. I try not to worry about how many comments I have since so many cards get uploaded every day. It's fun just to be involved here.
I have maybe 3 or 4 cards and a couple of scrapbooking layouts in my gallery. I am pretty new to stamping, and just not as comfy as I am in scrapbooking yet. Those items in my gallery are stamped items.
I have 1!!!!! Just got up the nerve to post one last night. I have a few more laying around that I want to get posted this week, but a couple of them are with retired sets.

I loved the first card you uploaded! Keep uploading! It's fine to upload cards with retired sets. Many of us, especially non-demos, keep and use our retired sets. We like the new inspiration!
I have 259 cards. I've thought about deleting some of the first stuff I uploaded, but I sometimes still get some comments on those cards and it is neat to see how much my style has changed and progressed!

I know you can upload me any day of the week but, I think I'll try and keep up with you! I have 64 so if I get to 200 that would be close to your goal!

Please, please, please, tell us before you delete from your gallery!!! I have a really bad habit of keeping my favorites strored in my favorites. I hate it when I go to pull up a card that I just know is there & it to be gone!!!!
I think it's fine for people to be selective in what they upload but I think it's important to have samples from all levels of stampers in the galleries. I only have 6 cards in my gallery because I don't have a scanner. We were all new stampers once and how do we encourage new stampers/SCS members to participate and upload their creations if all that is available is stuff worthy of the Dirty Dozen? I know I can get inspiration from cards that I look at and think of things I would change about layout, color combo, etc. Please don't delete your cards - you never know what will inspire someone else.
398 in roughly a year and a half. I think I'll celebrate when I hit 400 this week. Hey, how about a gigantic Spring Mini preorder . . . yeah, that's it! ;)
My first upload was january 21st last year, and I just scanned in #'s 103-105 now. I do think I deleted a few from before 1/21/05, but I can't remember exactly what. I like to look back at some of the early stuff as well, interesting to see if I have improved or not.
I also prefer to be selective and tend to be like-minded on this.
When I "grow up" I want to be as good a stamper as Julie.... a girl can dream right?! May be then I'll be more selective but right now I love to be able to see how much I'm improving.

My husband and I purchased a nice scanner as a Christmas gift to ourselves last year. So I've finally been able to start scanning/uploading some cards. I'm so psyched that I can finally participate in this community that has given me such inspiration.
