Default How to clean SU scissors??

I am new to stamping and have been mounting some sets today. My SU scissors now have a stickness to them. What is the best way to clean them?

Thanks for your help.

I just rub that Adhesive remover on the blades - I have one that is a little more cut-up for this use - I use a nice one for my cards. HTH.

Personally, I use an old towel and a few spritzes of the Stampin Mist-- cleans them every time. HTH

Does SU sell this adhesive remover? Sorry if I should know this but I've not really been a crafting person until recently.

Undu! It's the best ever. You can get it at Walmart, and just about any craft store.

Thanks for the quick replies. At least I know there are several options. I was scared I had ruined these, I will be getting me a second pair though to use for my cards.

Yes - the Adhesive remover is on page 220 of my catalog (I am in Canada though so I don't know if the US ones are numbered differently). It is CDN$2.95 - it is great also for removing excess Snail adhesive from around the edges of layers, etc. I usually throw one into my order every once in awhile when I am trying to figure out how much free stuff I can get with my hostess benefits!

I use a cotton ball and lighter fluid or a cotton ball and nail polish remover, works fast. Either one of the above will take the stickey residue off of just about anything.

Default Cleaning Scissors

I use the alcohol swabs that you can buy the drugstore in the section that has diabetic supplies. They are packaged individually and come with about 40 to a box. It makes it very easy to throw some in your case and have them wherever you are. It is a great way to demonstrate cleaning the craft scissors to your customers. Makes it seem so easy...and it is.

I use any kitchen cleaner that has orange in it. I'm not sure why...someone told me to do it and therefore I do!! And most importantly...it works great.

I use baby wipes on mine, and they work great! A question, why would you buy the craft rubber scissors for cards? What is it you are wanting to cut apart? I wouldn't get the rubber scissors for that, I would get the fine point scissors for general cutting. HTH!

The best way to clean scissors is WD40. It cleans any "sticky" residue.

Yup, gotta agree with the goo gone and paper towel. I used to use alcohol wipes, but found the goo gone works better (and smells better ;) ).

Another vote for WD40. Better than anything else I have tried.

Talking cleaning up SU scissors

I use Goo Gone - it's the best. Cheap too !!, you can find it just about anywhere. I get mine at Wal-Mart.
I just put a dab on, doesn't take much, and wipe it right off.

To clean my scissors, i purchae those little alcohol wipe packets. They are about $1 for 100 or so of them. I then carry them and actually keep them with my scissors and always can use them for other things, like especially at a WS when someone uses my papersnips and cuts themselves (although I always tell them they are sharp). Works like a charm!

I use Eucalypt Oil, it works a treat, that sticky stuff comes straight off, and it has a dual purpose if you have a head cold!

Talking Undu is the best

The Scrapper's Solution by Undo is the best. It can be used to clean your scissors but it can also be used to remove adhesive from you craft projects as well. I won't damage photos, paper or inks. If you remove a sticker or embellishment you will be able to reuse it since they become sticky again after the undu dries.

Just be careful when cleaning! I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally sliced my thumb while rubbing vigorously.
