Default How do you...

ink up the brayer? I have never used a brayer of any sorts and am curious how you use it? How do you clean it? What do you use the acryllic/sponge attachment for? Give me any helpful info, I am wondering if I should get it and am totally clueless.

Thanks
Val

To ink up - just roll in one direction several times on an inkpad. You can clean up under the faucet or spray stampin mist and roll on stampin scrub. THe sponge attachment is great for the plaidmaker. THe brayer is also great for inking up the background stamps like the new Canvas. If you do a search for brayer in the techniques forum, you are bound to come up with lots of ideas.

I had problems at first, but then I discovered that you have to lift it up the first time you do it on the glossy paper, and then go back and forth quickly but pressing at the same time. If it is still light, re ink and repeat! I love it!

You can also use the acrylic brayer for some special techniques...try wrapping rubberbands around it randomly, ink up using a rainbow pad and voila, a gorgeous fun background!

For cleaning, take it out of the handle with a baby wipe and run the roller under the water faucet!

You can ink it in a spectrum pad, it turns out great. One hint, don't slide the colors together, leave them seperated so that you don't make the colors bleed so much. It looks neat brayered on glossy cardstock, just keep rolling it forward & back until the color is really smooth.
