How do you do faux silk?

Just got an anonymous RAK and it says it was done with faux silk technique. Could anyone here explain how to do that?

Im not sure if this is quite the "faux silk" technique. But if it is, I think you take you piece of card stock and run your bone folder over it many times or run it against the side of the table or something to break up the fibers in the paper, then carefully peel the paper into two sections (kind of like two-ply toilet paper). Then you have a fuzzy soft texture to the paper that you can stamp on.

If this isn't the faux silk technique then maybe I explained an entirely different technique to you. This works great to make fuzzy teddy bears.

Faux silk is beautiful isn't it? I haven't tried it yet, but a friend sent me the directions on how to do it.

Crumple tissue paper and flatten out as best as you can.
Lightly roll inked brayer over tissue paper.
Crumple the tissue paper again, flatten.
Stamp images onto tissue paper.
Using a small paintbrush apply white glue to cardstock.
Apply stamped tissue paper onto glue/cardstock.

I thought this was faux suede. At least that's what I was going to call it when I demo'd it! I will have to try Amy's suggestion.
