How do you do the half circle latch on an envelope?

I did a search to try and find the answer, as I suspect someone has asked this before, but I couldn't find it.

On page 205 of the catalog at the bottom it says to use the 1-1/4" circle punch to create a notch in the flap of the envelope. I can't figure out how to do that. When I use the punch, not pressing all the way, I end up with 2 notches opposite of each other. What am I doing wrong?

I think you *should* press all the way...you want to get rid of a piece of the flap. KWIM?

It looks like you should just slide the envelope flap into the punch halfway, cutting a half circle. Stamp the circle as usual, but now you can see it "under" the flap. Make sense?

Maybe that is the problem. As I look at the sample, I'm envisioning a slit punch look where the top of the envelope tucked into the bottom. It probably is just punched out altogether and sealed shut.
