Default How do you make . . .

How do you make a pocket on the inside of a wedding invitation to hold the reception and/or response cards? A friend wants me to help her make her wedding invitations, so I searched the gallery to find ideas and found a couple that had these pockets on the inside. Any ideas?

You could use small envies to hold the cards. Hey! I'm in Oregon City too! Where in OC are you? I'm off South End Rd.

Here is a link to the invitations that I made which had pockets inside.
The description has some details about how I made them, if you have any other questions feel free to pm me.

I have also seen threads that show how to make unique folded pocket cards that do not require taping on a separate piece of card stock to create the pocket - you can try searching for posts on "pocket folds" or "wedding invitations" to try to find those. I think those require 12X12 card stock.

To do it my way I would definitely recommend purchasing stick strip at Micheals, there it is called "Terrifically Tacky Tape" and it is lined with red, but at Michaels they carry a very narrow strip and that worked perfect for making the pockets.

Hope this helps. Like I said feel free to ask any questions, and I'll see if I can answer them for you. Good luck and have fun.

I have a better super sticky tape alternative for you, Shirley. Since you live so close to me, give me a pm and I'll give you my phone to tell you about it. 72 yards for only $10. Super sticky but not archival. I used it for all the invitation that I made for my kids' weddings.

Thank you to all of you for the good ideas. What a wonderful group, you are all so willing to help. I have a stack of ideas to share with my friend and we surely should be able to figure it out now.
