Question How do YOU store all of your extra cards?

I was wondering if anyone has any practical storage ideas for their cards?? I always have quite a surplus and right now they are being stored in a Ziploc bag. Not the most conducive way to try to find pre-made card to send! What do you do with the cards you've made until they are ready to be sent?

Mine are all filed away (well, not really filed, just stored) in a photo box that I got on sale at Jo-Ann.

I bought the super awesome, durable, inexpensive SU container sold on page 234 of the new catty. Has dividers so I can sort them by category. Helps me know what I need to make because I can tell immediately what I am low on. Plus, I store my nice envies in there too. (The Forget-Me-Not Keeper)

I have a Forget-Me-Not Keeper and I LOVE it! I haven't really looked for anything else. The dividers are really nice and it's just so cute! I've got to get another one because this is full.

I go through my cards about once a year and weed out the ones I no longer like. It is amazing how much my tastes change - I get pickier and pickier about what I send out. All of the unwanted cards go to my mother and her friends. They ooh and aah over them and divide them up. So I never have more than about 50 cards on hand and they all fit in a basket. I tend to make cards on demand anyway - customizing cards for people when I need to send one out. I usually don't go to my extras.

Thumbs up

I use the very inexpensive clear rubbermaid plastic shoeboxes from Wal-Mart. They have the attached blue hinged lid that folds off to each side. They are the perfect size for the standard card size and hold lots!! And multiple boxes stack nicely on top of each other too

I use a "Sterlite" plastic container, 3 qt size. I like it because the lid is attached - the lid is in two parts and kind of interlocks in the middle. The size is right for cards, but I am getting enough that I need a second container. Should have one for cards I can "use" or sell, then put samples and inspirations in a second one.
(I accidentally sold one I was keeping to CASE - at a craft show. LOL!)

I did the photo box thing after I saw the forget me not keeper. I mad extra tall dividers so I can find things easier out of the retired cs colors. The only problem is I can't put the top back on, but I haven't needed to yet!

HI -

I have my cards stored in photo boxes - I have them divided into occassions like Birthday, Christmas, etc.

This way when I'm in a hurry for a children's card - I just check under Birthday (child) and voila - I've got my little selection. Works for me.

Me, too! I have three of them.

and they are pretty, too!

I really like how they have "folders" for each month so if you make a special card for someone, you can file it by month instead with all the rest in the back.

Sounds like everyone does something similar... I'm no different. I use a clear plastic box. I made file folders (cutting down regular office folders) and put events on the tabs (Birthday, Celebration (generic), Get Well, Sympathy, Blank, etc) so I can easily find a card when I need one.

I put mine in 2 places
1 - Longaberger Mothers Day Memories basket basket 2002 with lid and dividers (altho I dont use the dividers I should!)
2 - I found a wooden photo box at Target (think small hope chest) that has a lid and displays 2 pictures in front.

I LOVE both of them and they are very pretty to look at!

I really enjoy sending out my cards, and my family really appreciates them, so I actually only have maybe 20 extra on hand! I keep them in a pretty box on a shelf in my stamping room.

My swaps, on the other hand... they mulitply like bunnies! I use a clear plastic Rubbermaid Photo and Media storage box. It is really nice, it came from Walmart, right around $5. It has a plastic divider thing in it (like a book-end) that will hold them all up when it's not full, and it's big enough to hold 6x6 scrapbook pages standing up! I love it! I actually need another one, and now that I"m living in Canada, I can't find them!!!

I have a card box I got from Current. I can't remember how much I paid, but when I fill it, I'll be looking into the clear plastic containers.

I always have a couple boxes slowly being filled for the charities I send to. But for the cards I want to keep on hand which often get looked at by a couple ladies I'm teaching, I keep those in a small photo albums. The pages are just large enough to hold the cards and envelope if I have one done to match.
I found my albums at a Dollar General store for only two dollars. Make sure it's the ring binder style because you'll fill the album faster with cards since they are thicker than photos. So you'll have left over pages...I stopped at a resale shop a couple times and found some empty albums so the extra pages will still be used.
Its so nice to flip through the album and not have to worry about anything getting on the card. Easy storage too because they stand up just like a book.
