How to get edges of paper to curl.

I love the look of the curled, torn edges. What is the secret?

Other than crumpling the paper how do you get the edges to look so *curled, distressed*

I need to figure this out for a stamp camp I am going to hold at my MIL's house later in April.


Also anyone good with a waterfall card. I suck. I need simple directions.

Have you tried wetting the paper. Curl the edges and allow it to dry.

Hi, I take the scissors, closed, and push the paper along the edge. I hope that makes sense. Kinda like curling ribbon, but with the scissors closed. Hope this helps.

You can also rub your fingernail across the edge to distress it. They showed us this at Regionals this year and I love doing it. It is so simple and you only need your nail!

I put the paper in my hand and get it pretty wet, then crumple it. Tear the edges very gently. Lay it on a flat surface and allow to dry! hope that this helps you!

I use open scissors - exactly like curling a ribbon - or I use a sanding block or my finger but my favorite is to give the cs to my 3 year old!

Tear the edge first and then pull on the outside edge with your fingernail.

Just don't do it in two layers for a big swap! Ouch!

I have not received the aqua pens yet, but if you dampen the torn edges you can roll them inward easier than when dry. If your fingers do not work, try a Q-tip stick (easier to control the curl you want) The aqua pens will let you be in control of how wet you want the paper. If you do not have the aqua pens, a medicine dropper or baby medicine syringe may work as well. If you do not have the time or patience for project to dry or set, use your heat gun or hair dryer.

I use my aqua painter and get the edges wet and then curl them up. It works great. I posted a picture in my gallery of that too

Try using a bone folder.

I always roll it between my thumb and index finger....This works best with a torn edge but will work with a cut edge as well......
