I am ashamed to count them. I have a sterilite garage drawer thing with 6 drawers and it is filled to no more room. Then I have at least 20 clear mount sets. The part that shames me is that I don't use most of them.
I have a few of the sets that go for big $$ since they are retired and popular. I have no idea why I still want them since I don't even use them. I think I am a craft hoarder and I may need a 12 step program. ;-)

Oh, this is sooooo true and it's funny how here and there I need a random stamp and if I'd sold the set I be without what I need. I love to go back and use sets from a few years ago. They may only be three/fours years old but are still trendy and it give me a warm, fuzzy feeling to use.
There are a few I dislike and I'm getting rid of those. The rest will have a home for quite awhile!

A "well-meaning" friend took all of them out of their clamshells and tried to categorize them one day while she was babysitting my DS.
Her idea of categories and my idea were two different things.
It took me MONTHS to get them all put back together in their cases, with their buddies, the way I like them.
Oh my GOODNESS...that gives me heart palpitations! WOW, it would take some time to put them together again. Most of my sets are also together with their buddies-also the way I like 'em. ;) Except some sentiments...I broke them up and now I use them more often.
I can't bear the rest to be from broken homes! ;)

I don't think I have more than 150 (all SU! choices were limited when I started and I never expanded) but I'm pretty happy with what I have, there are a few I am ready to part with and I do have some unloved and underloved rubber. Hoping to change that this year.
After seeing how many stamps people have.....I'm REALLY embarrassed.
Brenda, I don't know how many you have but after seeing the posts from some of SCS stampers, I had to remind my husband that 23 stamp sets WAS NOT extravagant. I remember I did the math on someone who mentioned 34 shelves and 20 to 30 sets per shelf...at the max, that would be 1020! And, one gal mentioned over 1500. I'm not sure if I am GREEN with envy or just totally amazed.
I know what you mean...I always say I won't buy another flower set, but then SU comes out with another beautiful with a matching punch or DSP, and I just HAVE to buy it! LM

Your DH should be relieved!!! LOL!!! I'm not married nor do I have any kids (just by fur babies), so I only have myself to answer to. I almost posted my "guess" at how many stamps I have...but I just couldn't do it. Someone really needs to come up with a 12 step program for rubber stamp addiction. BWAHAHAHAHA!!! I'm sure the first step would be to admit you have an addiction. Would the 2nd step be to actually count how many stamps you have? This "poll" piqued my interest in knowing how many stamps I actually have. With it being a holiday weekend (YAY!! I get Monday off from work for MLK Day), I think I will make my best attempt to count....at the same time, I'll be able to work on organizing and purging.

Well Brenda, as you well know, I am right there with you! I have admitted I have an addiction... so there is step one. Perhaps step 2 would have to be something like having to use every set you own once... that would keep us too busy to even think about buying more...bwahahahaha!

I'm GREEN with envy!
I called my son in and proved to him that I not only don't have a ton of stamps, but I don't have enough to keep up with the Smiths, much less the Joneses! His comment was that I have enough and anyone with more than me has too much. He's 24, no steady girl, and already starting to sound like someone's husband. Sheesh

And probably spends more on a dates than you spend on a stamp sets;) I think my husband is just happy that I'm happily working in my craft room and not bugging him to stop watching football and go out!

A Craftaholics 12-Step Program
1. I admit that I am powerless over craft spending, and that my craft space has become unmanageable.
2. I came to believe that a power greater than myself can restore my organization.
3. I made a decision to turn my will and finances over to the care of my debtors.
4. I made a searching and fearless inventory of my shelves.
5. I admitted to myself, other Splitcoast Stampers and one other human being (except my husband), that I am out of control.
6. I am entirely ready to have my friends tear up most of my credit cards.
7. I humbly asked them to remove my purgings.
8. I made a list of all stamps and dies I have not bought and became willing to wait until I can pay cash--unless nobody is looking.
9. I am making direct payments to my credit card companies when whenever possible, except when to do so would mean no base cardstock.
10. I have continued to take inventory of my supplies and promptly purged all duplicates.
11. I have sought through browsing and meditation, to improve my purchases and to consider cost-saving ways to procure the newest items.
12. Having had this inspired awakening as the result of these steps, I tried to carry this message to other craftaholics and to continue to practice sound financial principals in all my crafting affairs.
I am in the 151-300 category. I got rid of about 100 stamp sets last year because I didn't really use them and I went on a purging rampage. I should have probably kept some of them but I quit being a demo and wanted a fresh start. Plus the money I made doing that really helped fund the fresh start! Lol.
Melissa, great start to the 12 step! LOL!!! I'm one of those people who hate having a balance on credit cards. I came out of college with a huge amount of credit card debt so once I got them paid off, I have always paid off the balance...while earning miles and points. It was a huge life lesson. So, thank goodness I don't "owe" for my habit. Plus, I'm a Financial Advisor, so I can't be a hypocrite by advising clients to not have credit card debt.

BTW - totally jealous you get monday off;)
I know you are!!! You have been one of my greatest enablers!! LOL!!! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Miss ya! We'll have to get together soon. I have another test this month. Maybe February?!?!? I won't have time to start my vday projects until the beginning of February. AND!! If you haven't heard, the new a|s catty releases on Feb 1.

Love this! My DH is wondering why I am laughing so much reading through it!
