I know this is a deeply personal question and it may make a lot of you uncomfortable, but when I read some people say they have so many stamps it gets my imagination going and I am wondering what their collection is like and how long they have been collecting stamps.I am going to count mine now.It os ok you are amongst friends.I am in Australia and would
love to meet more Aussies here.

Ok so here I am again, I am back from counting.I dont know how it happened ,but I have 450 individual stamps, some big, some small, love em all and 29 sets mostly acrylic.Ok now I have done that and I am still breathing the world is still turning. All is well.
I haven't counted in a long time but I probably have at least 300 sets plus about 60 individual stamps...I just downsized recently too. Most of my sets are photopolymer/clear sets.
I stopped counting after 600 individual stamps and 400 sets. I do know that we had to get a ryder on our house insurance just to cover all my stamps and supplies, thankfully I have kept about 80% of my receipts, this process also made it difficult to hide things from DH.

I'd been stamping & acquiring stamps for about 17 years, when one night this summer I spent 1 hour looking for a particular stamp. I decided it was finally time to create a stamp index binder to keep track of everything I had. Ten days later I finally had it finished and now when I buy stamps, I stamp them in my index 1st, before putting them away. The count as of October 3rd was 2,571. They say there's a fine line between hobby & obsession & I think I crossed that line about a thousand stamps ago. LOL
So, so many. I don't think I can even estimate. Thankfully, they have almost all been unmounted for the last few years. All I can say is, if I die, please don't let DH sell my stash for I said I paid for it.
I don't think I have that many stamps compared to some I've seen, but I think I probably have 125 stamp sets (mostly photo-polymer, but I have about 20 Stampin' Up sets) and probably the same amount in wood/unmounted rubber stamps. I don't have the room to get crazy, and I find I can stamp happily with what I have... I'll inject a few new sets here and there every few months (on top of free sets I get from my DTs).

I quick look around the room and I'd estimate about 60 SU! sets, 15-20unmounted full rubber sheets, and a few extras I started stamping about 4 years ago and I've recently done my first purge, and I'm now more selective about what I buy. I'm on a mission to use as much of my rubber that I currently have. By cutting back on my rubber purchases I find I used the stamps I already have a lot more, and I'm even inking up a lot of rubber that until now has been ink free. That makes me feel good.
Hi Junnee, what part of Aus are you from I am on the Sunshine Coast Qld.
I Have started to collate my stamps as have so many can not remember what I have, I started with basket for wooden stamps, and draws for unmounted, have now started stamping on to sheet of paper and laminating it and hope to place stamps on sheet and place in binder, got through one draw and that took 3 hours have 7 more and large basket(this has all the stamps that don't fit in draws) to get through yet, it takes time.
Cheers Vicki
P.s. didn,t some famous person say you can never have enough, look at Emelda Marcus and her shoes!!!!
No time to count but next time we move I'm going to take some kind of inventory and get
all these babies organized. There is a lot, to say the least.

I'm afraid I have to be like Cathy and Susan and plead the fifth. I'm afraid to count! Just think how many cards it would be if I used every stamp once!

I have around 100 stamp sets and I suppose 75 individual stamps. Lots of the individual stamps are Michael's $ stamps, which I'm a sucker for.
I love my wood mounts and most of my sets are SU with a few Inkadinkadoo, Gina K, PTI thrown in. I've been stamping for five years and finally think I've aquired enough supplies and stamps to create freely and easily.
I'm in the process of moving to the home we built. With that comes the realization that one has plenty (and then some) of everything-clothes, shoes, jewelry in addition to the stamping stuff! It's good to take a step back and inventory our lives. I always think I need more of everything! But in reality, not really!
With that said, there are about ten new sets in my near future and then I may be done!

I haven't counted in a couple of years and I've sold/given away some but it's probably around 5,000. I remember seeing an article about a woman who had around 20,000 - a whole basement full of them. Smimply amazing!
I stopped counting after 600 individual stamps and 400 sets. I do know that we had to get a ryder on our house insurance just to cover all my stamps and supplies, thankfully I have kept about 80% of my receipts, this process also made it difficult to hide things from DH.
I'm guessing 200+ & a growing collection of clear stamp sets & cling stamps too. Way too many..& it's never enough because I keep adding to my collection each time I see an adorable card with an irresistible stamp on it! Pure madness! ;)
I did not know I had an obligation to count how many I had, I just thought I had to collect them. I probably have around 200 and that is only because my crafting budget has to stretch between scrapbooking, papercrafts and my sewing addictions. That is when there isn't a food bill for the two horses. There are only two horses because the hobby bill has to also stretch to feeding three cats as well ... and there is only so much on one income...
I haven't counted but I would guess over 200 Stampin up sets, plus my Gina k., unity, etc that would be another 40 or so. Plus maybe 20 single stamps. Basically, anything that is rubber.... Only have about 5 or 6 clear...
I don't know off hand how many sets of stamps I have, but a pretty good estimate is that I have between 1200-1300 individual stamps now (both rubber & clear - 80% clear stamps). I finished unmounting and indexing ALL my stamps this summer. Best organizational move I made with my craft stuff.
I have 183 SU sets, 6 binders full of acrylic set and individuals, 30 plus unmounted rubber sets and 3 shelves full of individual stamps. In other words, enough!! I now only buy things if I am totally in love with it and I don't have something comparable already. Tough to find anymore so I haven't bought much lately.

A few years ago I actually counted. Back then it was around 700 (including all the individual stamps in sets). I've since purchased more stamps but I've also sold off a lot so I'd say it's probably around the same number. It is kind of wierd to think about it that because it means that if I were to use one stamp per day it would take me two years to use them all.
I always think I have a lot of stamps - until I see what my friends have. It's like I have nothing. I have sets that are 4 years old that I have not used, ink and paper included. A few years ago I talked on-line to a lady that told me she stopped counting hers at 7,000. I almost fell out of my chair.
Ooh, that's something I always wonder about, especially when I'm at a convention and I see someone with a basket full of stamps.....Gee, I wonder how many she has? Hehe, I'm probably trying to justify the amount I have .
As of last count I have about 2000 individual, not counting sets and alphabets. Omg, I think they breed when I leave them alone.
This is an eye opening thread
I took a couple of hours this afternoon and counted EVERYTHING I have. Stamps, embossing folder, Nesties, ribbon, ink pads, etc. Wow I have way too much and I am putting myself on a stamping diet as of Jan 1st! I don't need one more thing
15 SU sets
3 Gina k sets
6 Cornish Heritage farm sets or background stamps
21 JustRite sets
9 Tilda's
8 Holly Berry stamps
1 TAC stamp ( The Christmas Train)
and 65 individual stamps. Although some are 1" stamps like butterflies and shoes and this includes greeting/ sentiment stamps
I have 42 Nesties
45 Copics
17 CB folders
6 SU folders
32 MS & EK success punches
18 SU punches
38 spools of ribbon
Plus ink pads, paper and other stuff.
Sheesh !!
I am afraid to count everything I have!!! I don't want to know then I would have to tell the truth if my DH asked!!
I have way more than I need or will use but not enough to make me quite buying but getting close.
For me taking inventory is helpful. It is so easy to see a pretty stamp or punch and want it even thought I have plenty. I still need some white ribbon and gold ink for my Christmas cards . However, The first test of my stamping diet is I am not going to even look at the Black Friday sales . Wish me luck LOL
