This is more of an observation than anything else, but I looked in my gallery one day, and I was messing around with the sorting feature. So, I sorted the number of comments by ascending order. And, I had 16 cards in my gallery with no comments.
Upon examining them, I thought, well, some really aren't comment-worthy (LOL!), but others I was happy with. And, sometimes, you get a million comments on the simplest cards! Honestly, I think it is mostly because of them being non-SU sets, but that isn't really surprising to me.
Anyone else notice this about your gallery? How many zero comment cards do you have?
BTW, it is so fun to go back and look at some of my earlier cards and see how my style has evolved. And, no, I'm not soliciting comments, just getting philosophical, I guess!!

I think how many "zero comment" cards you have is not a valid assessment without including your total number of cards. If you have 10 wiith zero comments out of 20 cards, that is very different than if you have 10 out of 200 for example.
I have 12 no comment cards out of 57 posted- so more than 20% of my cards are ignored. Some of these are among what I thought were my "better" cards.
I like getting comments but do not get bent out of shape if I don't- I had to go to my gallery and count to get these numbers.
But anyway, my point is that how many out of your total is more accurate then just a number.
I have 4, but many are just 1 comment so even though that doesn't count as zero, it's still low but I like looking back on them from time to time, esp if i have mailed it to someone or sent it away in a swap - at least it's there for me to see what i made back in the day, LOL!
This was fun---like taking a walk down memory lane!
Out of 182 cards, I have 3 with no comments. It is always interesting to see which cards people choose to leave comments on; some that I think are quite nice don't get many.... You just never know!
What I enjoy about cruising through the gallery is that there are always so many different styles to see; they might not be my style, but I enjoy them nonetheless! There's something for everyone!

Good point...I have 16 out of 391, so I guess that is a low percentage.

I really don't think it is because of being non SU stamps. If a person isn't involved in the challenges or doesn't know a lot of SCS people, it is hard for that person's card to be seen. When uploaded, it is in the gallery for such a short time and then gone to never never land where a person just happens to come upon it unless looking for something specific. I try to give comments to a lot of people but it is very time consuming. There are beautiful cards that don't have any comments..but they are beautiful just the same.

I don't have any zero comment cards, but I have a bunch of 1 and 2 comment cards. I tend to look more at the number of views and favorites rather than the comments, although comments are always welcomed and appreciated!
I have 10 out of 489. But Benzi is right about there being more comments on challenge cards, and it relating to that rather than whether or not it's SU. Sometimes I don't have time to check all the gallery uploads as well as whatever challenge I have played in that day. It really depends on how much time I have early morning or late evening when there's not much else on...
I have a feeling that SU cards are more favourited than other cards, but I could be wrong. Anyway, two of my zero comment cards were challenge cards (although one was one of those cards that needed two pictures, open and closed and there were comments on the other picture.)
Just editing to add that the quality of photo makes a difference to me. I'm not talking about the amazing settings some people use, just a simple thing like being in focus. If I can't see the details properly, then it's harder to find something nice to say, and I believe in saying nothing in that case.
I used to have about 30!!! Then, I sorted them into "galleries" and LOST them! I'm a real computer genius, don't you think?(*insert wild laughing woman here!)
Interesting question. I have 2 photos (one inside of a card and one altered item) out of 278 with zero comments. I also have 14 with only one comment. I agree that it is easy for photos to slip through the cracks if they aren't challenge cards.
I have 52 out of 174. That's almost a third. That's rather depressing. I knew that i had a bunch with zero comments but to just realize how many is too bad. Wow i wish i hadn't figured that out since now I don't really have a desire to post at the moment.
All of my cards or projects (total number 286) have comments. What can I say? I have nice friends. LOL!
I do have a few with only 1-2 comments. Doesn't bother me in the least. I don't do many challenges and use few SU stamps, so most of my cards get overlooked by the majority of people. I'm just happy to have a nice place (with unlimited space!) to display my creations.
I was amazed that I only had 8 zero cards out of 138. The zero cards were non challenge cards. But I do have to say WOW has my skill increased and my style changed.
Well I have 348 uploads, and no ZERO comment cards, but I do have 5 with only one comment... Pretty cool... Out of the 5 with only one comment, 3 are altered items, and 2 are non-su!, non-challenge cards.. they're always the ones that don't get a lot of views and comments.

I have 5 zero comment cards in my Projects album - 'course, they have absolutely no technique or bling, not part of a challenge and maybe not so good - but they were part of a mass production. As a matter of fact, I truly thought that I could upload directly to my gallery without them going to the 'todays additions' so I would NOT have uploaded them if only I had realized! Hecko Pete, they don't even have many views - like 14 or something. Oh well
I have 5 no-comment cards. But to be fair, I only have 7 cards in my gallery and I only started uploading cards last week. I don't have a blog so my gallery here is it. I try to leave comments at all the cards I take a closer look at, but especially when I favorite a card.

I agree, interesting question. Out of 203 cards, I only have 4 with no comments but a lot with 1 or very few. I don't count the secondary photographs showing close-ups, etc.
I think how long they've been in your gallery has something to do with it too. My last 0 comment cards were just from this past Dec. and Jan.
I have 3 more zero comment cards in albums but I see those differently - I don't expect a lot of people to click on the albums.
What surprised me was that two of the no-comment cards are two of my favorites!! One of them I just pulled out today to use for a Sympathy card and it was really hard to part with it!! The other is in an album, but the album cover, and one of my absolute favorites ever LOL! Oh well.... to each her own, I suppose
Views, comments and favorites are simply a mystery unto themselves with so many variables the actual numbers are virtually meaningless ~ and yet it was fun to see!! Someone asked awhile back which one of your cards had the most views, I think it was, and that was fascinating. . . you just never know what to expect ;)
12 out of 964 photos have no comments. Of those 12, 10 have less than 100 views and at least 1 favorited each. One of those is an alternate view of another post.
I do have a lot of cards with less than 5 comments.
I never give it much thought though. I think it really depends on the time of day you post, too. I tend to post alot late at night.
I used to have about 30!!! Then, I sorted them into "galleries" and LOST them! I'm a real computer genius, don't you think?(*insert wild laughing woman here!)
I find that so unbelievable because Faith is so incredible with her cards....
Haven't reallly checked my gallery yet but it is an interestig question...
Ok....I was so curious.... I went back and out of 123 cards I have NO zero comment cards....I was very surprised as sometimes I am so displeased with my cards.
I do have a few with 2 comments....
Special sincere thanks to all who have come and commented in my gallery. The inspiration on this site is just incredible!!!!!!
Looks like I am the biggest loser out of this group so far! Out of 351 cards, I have 29 no comment cards! I'm really just kidding about being the biggest loser, I'm saying it all in fun! I dont get bent out of shape when I dont get comments, I just like to have a record of all the cards I made and when someone asks to see my work, I have a "link" to send to them.
I have over 1,500 cards in my gallery, and have only 4 with zero comments, but about 150 with 1 or 2 comments.
The older ones weren't that wonderful, so I'm surprised that they got even that many! I posted three of the four zero comment cards in the past month....I must be slipping! LOL!

Okay, I just checked all my zero comment cards ... out of 29 of them, 15 are favourited at least once, if not more ... so people didnt take the time to comment, but they did like them! So that's not so bad. LOL.
Ya, so I had to go look too now... I have 7 out of 274. But there are a LOT with only a couple comments.
I agree with what others have said - there's lots of factors for this. Challenge cards always get more comments. Also, the more you comment on other peoples cards, the more you'll get back. Sometimes I think it has very little to do with how 'good' a card actually is. Some of my least favorites got over 50 comments. Some of my most favorites got only a few. Also, I'd like to think my cards have gotten better over time, and my comments have gone down drastically in the last month. I think it is completely due to the fact that I haven't played in any challenges in the last few weeks, and I just haven't had the time to browse galleries and leave comments.
It use to bother me...when I first joined, I used to think the number of comments was a reflection of what people thought of my work. Now I think it has more to do with what I said above, along with the time of day I happen to post, galleries that I post to, keywords that I use...etc...etc...
I have 1 zero comment card, but that's out of only 16 total. I don't know how some of you manage to upload hundreds of cards. That's amazing.
For my first year here, I only had three items in my gallery, and they got more than their share of comments. That's because all those nice people who post reciprocal comments only had three of my cards to choose from ;) . I uploaded the other 13 last week, which is a lot for me all at once.
I have 73 cards in my gallery, no zero comment cards, and 7 with one or two comments.
The funniest thing is the card I have with the most comments, is the one I like the least of all the cards I have posted. It was a challenge card and I think I threw it away because it was so hideous! Go figure!
I have 7 no-comments out of 421 cards. Woohoo! And several of those don't DESERVE comments, LOL! It would have been 8 except that last night k dunbrook took pity on one of them.
I notice when I comment on a lot of other people's cards, I get more comments in return. When I don't spend much time in the gallery commenting, I get fewer comments, especially if the cards aren't challenge cards. It all takes time, and some weeks I don't have much of that precious gift. Neither do many other people here.
I get as excited about people "favoriting" my cards...that means they want to look at them again. How nice is that!:-D
You know, I wasn't going to look, because I usually don't get any comments on my layouts or cards. In fact, I haven't uploaded anything in a long time because of that. Imagine my (pleasant) surprise to find that I don't have ANY zero comment cards/pages. And I have only 7 uploads in there! I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all the ladies who left such wonderful comments. Thanks for starting this thread, Sue. It made my day! I guess I'll be uploading more now.
30 out of 69! Some of them do have alot of views though, and I appreciate that people have at least taken the time to get a closer look.
But you know what, it doesn't really matter to me how many comments there are. The whole point for me is to share my creations and hopefully inspire someone else.
As long as you are happy with it, that's all that really matters!
I can say I have no cards with 0 comments-BUT I have played in the comment thread.
Also the cards with the most comments were made by my dd and ds!!!
