Default How Often Do You Reink?

I always notice how juicy my demo's classic stamp pads are and mine don't seem to stay juicy for very long. Do you reink after so many uses? Do you always buy a reinker when you get your stamp pad? I know my demo is lurking here somewhere and can give me some advice too.

I don't even own the reinkers, and some of my classic pads are a couple years old. I always thought it really had to do with which ones are used a lot and personal prefrence. I don't have the time to stamp nearly as much as I would like so mine are not used often.
I was always afraid also of having too much ink on the pad, I have had some bad experiences with my vanilla craft. Too gooey!

I buy the re-inker with each stamp pad. I re-ink mine twice a year. That's just my personal preference. I like really juicy stamp pads... but I also don't stamp daily. If I did, I might have to re-ink more often. I know a few colors I do re-ink more often (like three or four times a year) but that is b/c they get used a lot.

I usually only ink with five to six drops. Not sure if that is a lot or not to some. But that's always my preference. Normally one on each corner area and two in the middle. Never had problems before either. I use smth other than SU! but it should work the same regardless of the stamp pads!

I've had my classic pads for almost a year, and have only had to reink about four of them. My Basic Black took about 3/4 of a bottle when I reinked it. My Elegant Eggplant and Always Artichoke both get used over and over for big background stamps, including a couple of times in huge shoebox swaps. Both of them took over half a bottle when I reinked them. But hey, ink is cheap!

I just squeeze the bottle while drawing lines back and forth and up and down the pad, until it quits "drinking" it in so fast. Close it up and let it sit for a while, then try it out and see how it stamps. Repeat as needed.

Same here... Some pads get used A LOT and need lots of ink. Some might never need reinking if you hardly ever use them. There's no real hard and fast answer that's the same for everybody. But definitely apply ink to the pad until it stops soaking in so fast.

I like my ink pads juicy, so I reink at the first hint of dryness. My black pad gets reinked the most, of course - probably every couple months or so. I buy the reinkers whenever I buy a new ink pad. Even if I don't have to reink much, I use the ink for other techniques.

Thanks for your input. I hadn't reinked any of my pads since they were purchased until now.

I've bought all fo the re-inkers as I purchase the pads; but I've really not re-inked too often. I stamp every day and several of my pads are from 1997 when I first started buying SU and have only been re-inked a few times. I finally bought all 48 colors last year and have never re-inked those. I find black and versmark are the two that require the most re-inking though!
