Those of you who got the Viking deal for 120 colored pencils (or are just rich enough to afford them) How do you organize them? Did you leave them in the places they came or did you put all the like colors by eachother? Just wondering what to do (once I finish sharpening them)
TIA,
Jen
I actually pulled out the 48 ones that "match" the SU colors. I found the list on here somewhere. Also the gold and silver and a couple other ones I thought I might use a lot. I put each 'color family' in its own container.
The rest I did leave in the original tin, but I moved them around so the similar colors are together. These I didn't sharpen yet. Someday!
I hate posting at night...only 4 views in 30 mins and 1 of those at least is mine.
I can't find the SU color match to prismas....PLEASE does someone have it???
A wonderful SCS stamper made a list of all the colors that match SU colors and I use this as a guide. I just put the numbers of the pencils on the plastic sheath and that covers them, then I just look up the number that matches the number on that list. Very quick and easy.
I have had all the pencils for over 15 years now...just replace the ones I used up individually, they really are a quality product...anyway, how I organize them?
I bought one of those colored/clear plastic caddy things at WalMart. They are meant to hold napkins, forks, knives and spoons on a table. They were in the lunch box/picnic section during the summertime, $5 each. I bought 2 and put paintbrushes, my watercolor pencils (both SU! and Prismacolor - which I bought for the range of colors including skin tones), pure color, metallic, pastels (I have the pencil style ones from General - love them, so easy to use), extra markers like Sharpies, rulers, scissors, extra paint chips...they are VERY useful and handy, you can see every color and grab exactly what you need.

I put mine in number order. I kept the chart that came in the box, cut it up a little and put it in a photo holder. I really don't use them much at all, yet anyway. I too could not pass up the bargain price.
I made a color patch of each color with it's number. Then when I need a color I look at the pencil patches and pull it from the tin where they are in numerical order.
I organized them by shade, pinks, greens, blues etc. I've been using mine and its easier for me to visually see the variations of color this way within the color shades.
