Hi there! I love this stamp...I think it works really well for spotlighting. I usually stamp it once in black on ivory and then again in Mellow Moss. Watercolor (w/pencils or pastels) part of the black one, cut it out and put some Mellow Moss c.s. behind it, and layer it over the Mellow Moss hydrangea image. This also looks great with brushed gold c.s. as a layer...or of course you can change the colors up. I think you could also spotlight with a shape stamp in the same way!

Here's a link to one I did like this:

There are some beautiful examples in the gallery.

I'd also look at similar stamps such as stipple rose and Early Spring for ideas. I'd even look at Wonderful Wings and Lovely as A Tree for inspriation.

Good luck

Rainy

Default Hydrangea help

remember you can color different shades of purples and blues right on the rubber with your markers. Then stamp on cream and put on mellow moss?

This stamp is great for crayon resist! Just stamp in black on glossy white, then highlight the small petals near the top of the flower. Then sponge your color on! When you are satisfied, buff the crayon off with a paper towel.

I used the shaving cream technique to make a background using shades of blues and purples, then I stamped the hydrangea in black on top of the swirled background.
