I bought a container of ModgePodge to do an altered project earlier this summer. The project is on hold and since it's for me, will probably remain low on my priorities until after Christmas. I was making an altered notebook to go into a birthday present for Friday and was running low on adhesives. The only adhesives that are available in town are dollar store gluesticks that are not even worth the dollar. I just did not have time before Friday to go to the city or even a neighboring town. Then I thought of the Modge Podge. I really can't believe I've never used it before. It is amazing.

I agree - it's great! I also bought a bottle of Royal Coat by Plaid, because it was supposed to not get tacky after it dried. Don't know if that is true or not, but it worked great on my composition books I made. Just a thin layer is all you need! (but listen, I have been using mod podge since the 70's when I was 16 and doing decopage...OMG - did I just tell my age?!)
Modge podge is great. I covered my daughters old beat up dresser with scrapbook paper and modge podge. ( I couldn't paint it because it was laminate and paint wouldn't stick.) Now that ugly dresser is a work of art.
Dang Marsha, aren't you clever. That sounds gorgeous. If you have a digital camera I would sure love to see a picture of that. As for Modge Podge, I have never used it but I am going to have to get some since I just bought several Maya Road chipboard books.

I definately would love to see it as well.

Oh, I LOVE this stuff too!! I used it the other day to attach sb paper to one of those big wooden letters and it looks great! It sand well also, so I could give the paper a distressed look!!! I used it on the lunchbox tins also and it has been beat all up and you would never know!
PS. I would love to see the dresser too!!!! It sounds cool!
Just be warned...if you have a kitten...and you're not paying attention and she knocks over the bottle with her curious little paws...that stuff is difficult to get out of carpet and said kitten! ;) It's amusing to have a crusty spiked kitten....but the vet was not so amused. Hehe.
Can this be used on ceramics? I bought a oil and vinegar ceramic set at Target and used rub-ons to make it pretty. But I need something to keep the rub-ons from scratching off. Will the mod-podge work or should I use a Krylon spray sealer?

I think it might work, but couldnt say for sure. Someone like me would say go for it! But the other smarter ladies here might say to try the sealer!
Please note that this product is MOD PODGE not modge podge.
I never knew that....seems I've always heard the latter name! And I too remember it from the 1970's with various stickers, wine labels to alter tables. ;) Maybe one day the company will be like Federal Express going to FedEx...and Mod Podge will become Modge Podge.

This is so funny because I know the actual product name is Mod Podge but I have ALWAYS called it Modge Podge (and apparently I'm not the only one) ......what's up with that?????
