OK ~ seriously - I think it is time for a time out!

We all love this place ~ I do not think that it was anyone intention to take "digs" at anyone else.

This is something that came to mind as I was reading some of the posts:
If you take care of your customers then you are taken care of - Bottom line is that SU! is made of Demos and those demos for the most part depend on their customers and if they are higher up the chain their demos and their customers and so on. SO in the end I see Customer and that would be us Non Demos....

Either way there is no reason to get upset about this ~ It was just a simple question about the changes that are taking place ~ no big deal ebay is just a page away and in the big scheme of things none of this matters that much anyway....please Do not be upset - I was a consultant for a company too and there is NO way to control every single person in the world rules or not ~ I understand the reason there are these rules and I am just as happy with the BST forum being gone as with it being here

In closing I do not feel that there should be a seperation of folks, who is a demo and who is not thing going on - it does not matter.... we all love stamping/scraping and the friendships that are here. I personally respect those of you who are demos and are trying to make your business grow. On the same hand I do not think that ebay has put anyone out of business yet. These days if you are not watching what you spend today you may not have anything to spend later in life - so I guess what I am saying is if we as non demos can save some now then maybe we will still be around later to buy more! ANYWAY - I totally understand that being a demo and seeing current products sold on this website could cause some frustration and knowing that it hits such a nerve with demos makes a little more sense to me. Thanks for explaining it and maybe we can let this go now ~ you know take that time out for some Awesome stamping and sharing of ideas!!!!

Not only that - it seems some folks got fooled into thinking this was their one stop stamping spot on the web. I saw that clause in my contract when I signed up - voided it right out. I can go any where I want, do what I want when I get there, as long as I mind my manners and demo obligations ...
oh wait - my browser is stuck here.
DAVEN!!! What did you do?

Default SCS is a bunch of nuts!

Well what I was thinking was that all of the non-demos on this site should probably just go ahead and sign up under me. . . that way no one will feel left out? Deal? Okay sounds good to me!

Oh and DAVEN!!!! Did you hear that? I started SCS! Ha ha ha ha ha!

I saw dagnabbit used as a swear word earlier - had to say that I thought that would be a good one for me to use to keep from saying anything that I might regret in front on my 3 year old, but he changed it to dam gabbit. Oops!

Added to my signature line after reading this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And all you demo's out there......great job and kudos to all you share with us non-demos. I am very content not being a demo....and love SCS....I love trying new things so it's great to get in on some of those things here!

I know this thread didn't start out with this in mind....

Hmmm, I have sold things on Ebay before....sets I have gotten tired of or that have retired and they have lost their gleam for me!! It does work very well. I do not agree with SU demos selling on there and have stopped buying from anyone that I think is doing that. My demo offers specials and incentives through-out the year and has a punch card that keeps me loyal, so I haven't bought a thing SU related off of Ebay in about a year!

Oh, and Cambria...I would miss your avatar awful bad if you moved over to strictly demo area!! Don't you dare !!

Thanks Rebekah!! Glad you had a good experience on ebay. I TOTALLY think it is a good place to go if you are a non-demo to sell your stamps

I just really appreciate all that I have received from SCS being there for me when we get stuck with a project or have stamper's block or need one of the many techniques that are available.

My 2 cents.

I so totally agree!! I really feel lucky that we are all welcomed guests to this site!

Here's an observation (I realize this was yesterday's thread, but I'm just catching up....):

The stamp sets that ARE on EBay, are going for even more money than they did a few weeks ago...I think it's a direct correlation with the rules that have been recently put into place. Not saying the rules are good or bad, just a general observation...

I am a new stamper, but I could justify the money I spent a little more to my dh when I was buying from other SCS-ers!! I kept telling him that I can sell them, too, when I'm done or tired of the set. Now, I have to tell him that if they are a current set, I can only trade! Not for a happy dh...

okay-let me get this straight:

SCS institutes new guidelines here on December 9th (less than a week ago) and you are implying that b/c of our new guidelines that ebay prices have been going up for a few weeks?
Maybe I am mis-understanding, but I do not understand the correlation between what has happened for a few weeks as you put it, and our new policy.

Quote:

I kept telling him that I can sell them, too, when I'm done or tired of the set.
If you are a demo, you were never supposed to sell on here no matter what. If you are not a demo, we have no issues with anywhere you choose to sell your sets. Take any set you want to sell and you are of course free to sell on ebay. That is your choice, and if as you say, they are now more expensive, then that means you have more money in your pocket when you sell something.

I don't want to rehash the reasons that the policy was put in place. I just don't understand how our policy affects ebay or your ability to sell there. :?
maybe I am missing something

Why not just sell them on Ebay? You would probably get more money for them anyway.....

I know, it's a bummer, but it is for us demos too at times. You can just as easily find someone to trade with.... we do it all the time. Just give it a try... you might find it works out better for you in the long run.

Like Britta said, the decision was made mainly because of the policies of SU!! It is really just too hard to weed through who is a demo and who isn't. I think it's totally unfair for us to expect them too.... it is already a big job helping to run this site.

May Santa bring you what's on your wishlist! ;)

As I prefaced my posting, it was an OBSERVATION. I was looking at stamps on ebay to see what the sets look like that were for trade on SCS (I didn't have my IB&C nearby), and felt like the sets were going pretty high. I had done the same a few weeks ago, and they didn't seem to be as high on bids.

Again, it was just an OBSERVATION. In no way did I intend to ruffle any feathers!! Sorry if I offended ANYONE...was not my intention.

It was not an implication, just an observation, ok? I don't watch ebay every day, every second, so I was not saying that the MOMENT the rules went into effect that the stamp bids went up.

Also, I am not a demo. Just a beginning stamper, as I also stated in my posting. And, I will sell them on ebay when I'm ready to, if I don't become a demo. My dh (mr. finance) would be happy to see me make money on them...

That being said, I will say no more...

I believe after a mini catlog expires they would no longer be current sets. At least not until the new Idea Book & Catalog comes out and only then if they are including in it. That is my understanding anyway. I may be wrong.

YES... mini sets are still considered current until they DON'T appear in the new catalog. You never know which ones will show up in the next Idea Book and Catalog! We can cross our fingers though eh?

If you are a demo.... you can post in the demo only area for someone who will trade a set for a mini set. Lots of times we do that to get a customer a set that they missed.

Have a great day!

Hi Karen! Nice to meet a new stamper!

I am not sure if you caught this already, but you are PERFECTLY free to sell and buy on eBay as a non demo! No problem. It's only those of us who are that aren't, so your DH shouldn't be upset in the least. Sell away, baby!

I was thinking that one reason things are going for higher prices right now may be that they're going to be Christmas Gifts for loved ones? (Liked ones, too! )

My feathers weren't ruffled , I just didn't understand the correlation to our new policy

or why you couldn't sell your sets as a non-demo on ebay.

I kept telling him that I can sell them, too, when I'm done or tired of the set. Now, I have to tell him that if they are a current set, I can only trade! Not for a happy dh...
AND I also said I was confused :? which is not a new thing for me LOL. I was trying to understand if I was understanding your post correctly-and apprently I still don't know.

Sets (esp. UM stes) always go for more on ebay b/c of the holidays-but that is the same for all the ebay products b/c now people are in that "Oh my gosh I have to get it because I can't find it anywhere else" panic mode! (not that *I* have ever done that). It is true also for things that are sold out at stores, like specific toys. So perhaps that is the correlation.
