Default I have a (12x12 paper storage) dream . . .

I'm getting ready to re-organize my stamping room & I have a dream . . .

. . . an armoire-type thing with doors (to keep out light & dust) that has two very large, tall standing 12x12 paper organizers inside to hold at least 60 colors of paper - 1-2 inch trays would be perfect . . .

Is anyone already living my dream? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can make my dream a reality?

Finding an amoire should be no problem. As for the paper racks, I am planning on getting those metal wire cubes, but instead of making them into cubes, I plan on making the sides and back, then using zap-straps, attatching shelves for all the paper. These will fit into a really nice amoire I saw at WMart for about $80

Should look into it - I plan on it as soon as I know if we are moving or not.

Do you plan to angle the wire "squares" so you can see your paper better?

I had forgotten about those wire racks - thanks for the reminder. I keep looking at those fancy ones from the organization websites & I just cringe at the expense! YIKES!

I posted this in another thread... maybe it's for you?

I've had this friend since before we were in Kindergarten. She moved before that and we stayed in touch and still talk. That's close to 25 years ago. Her mother has just started this business selling exactly what you are looking for. Of course I have nothing to do with the business but gave her my word I would advertise for her if I had the chance.

Go to this website to see what she has to offer. Sorry I don't know any different information. I suspect I will see this product for the first time this weekend. We are doing a 12 hr crop and she'll have her items there to show and sell.

http://www.papercoops.com/

Hope this helps! Let her know Shar told you about the site.

I currently do not have plans to angle the wire shelves, unless I can find a way to prevent the paper from sliding off the end. It is a very good thought tho, and will require some creative thinking. Thanks.

Default My daddy made me one!

I have a handmade scrapbooking cabinet! My dad made me a solid oak cabinet that is 8 feet tall and 5 feet wide. It has two doors on top and two on bottom. He even made custom 12x12 file drawers for my paper. The only sad thing is that I need another one for my stapming supplies!LOL!

There's a place called www.collectors-cabinets.com that sells something like that. Of course, they are expensive. If that website is not exactly right try some variances of it. I know I am close. I tried looking it up tonight and they are not coming up but I know they exist because I have looked them up before. Also, Memory Makers Magazine is having a contest this month to win a cabinet from them almost exactly like what you are talking about.

I had another thought... we bought and stained a piece of furniture from Lowes for our TV, etc... that has two sets of doors on it. I tried to find a picture of it at Lowes.com but they don't seem to have it anymore (at least not online) but you might be able to find it at the store. Anyway, then you could buy those plastic 12x12 trays to stack inside it.
