I need some help deciding on which BG's to keep. I have too many and I just can't make up my mind. Those of you that use your BG stamps often, perhaps you could help me decide which to keep. I am not a Demo, so whether it's current or not doesn't matter.
Which to keep:
Linen or Canvas?
(I also like the Aida Cloth - would that be worth getting if keeping one of these? I haven't decided on getting it or not)
Geometric or Crosshatch?
I truly appreciate anyone's advice on this - Thank You!
Blessings,
Debbie

I don't think I could part with Linen or Canvas. I also love my Aida Cloth
As for Geometric or Crosshatch or I had to get rid of one I think it would be Geometric.
I'm a firm believer that one can never have enough backgrounds so I'm probably NOT the one you should ask .....hehe

Linen, Paisley, Floral, French Script, Harlequin, Flannel Plaid, Fine Lace, Crosshatch, Chicken Wire are the ones I use the most and will not part with!

I have quite a few backgrounds and I understand how you feel. I don't use too many of them these days but I do use both Canvas and Linen all the time, so I'm no help. I have a few others I wouldn't be sad to let go.
I couldn't part with Linen or Canvas, I use linen on almost every card, and canvas pretty often, also love Floral and French Script. As for the other I would get rid of the Geometric BG.

I have almost every BG SU has made in the last 12 years and could never part with any of them - they are all great in different card designs! I'd vote for keeping them all and adding as new ones - like French Flair - become available!!! Good luck with your choice.

I use Crosshatch much more than Geometric. This must be true for others also because if you watch ebay, Crosshatch is hard to find and Geometric, when it appears, often goes for less.
I would never part with any of my fabric look stamps. My current favorite is the new Paisley.
I need some help deciding on which BG's to keep. I have too many . . .
Too many background stamps? Is that possible? I've never heard of such a thing. :-)

Depending on how soon you want to "thin" out your stash, make a little chart and mark off each time you use each BG. After a period of time keep the ones you use the most.
I used to do somethink like this with my clothes. I tied little pieces of string around each hanger. As I wore the item I took the string off. At the end of the season if it still had a string it went in the goodwill box.
Which one to keep?!! This sounds like Sophie's Choice!
As much as getting rid of a stamp sends me into terrified spasms (even if I've never used it ... because ... well ... I might someday!), I do understand the need to purge (so you can accumulate more!). I tend to lean more towards Canvas over Linen and Crosshatch over Geometric (even though I love Geometric!). However, that's just for my style. I would look back at your cards and see which you have migrated to more often. You should keep the ones you are able to get the most use out of. Whatever you keep has to suit YOUR style best, not mine!

What I've learned about background stamps is that the ones you are not using now you will probably end up using later when someone on the board decides to dust them off and do really cool stuff with them! So my advice would be to keep the background stamps and ditch the wood blocks they are on. Yes, unmount the stupid things!!! Rubber on cling foam takes up only a tiny bit of space - you would be able to fit probably at least 8 bg stamps on foam in a single SU plastic case. You wouldn't even have to buy an acrylic block if you didn't want to. Just keep one bg on the block and use the sticker side of the block as your mount. Simple, cheap and solves the problem of not enough space.....Think of all those people who got rid of the old chicken wire bg when cutsy country went out of style - they are anxiously trying to find a replacement because the stamp is being used in new creative ways...something to think about!;)
