Default I need help with a moving announcement

Hi, I've never posted here before, and I'm hoping I will get some help with this ettiquete question from all of you stamping experts

My father passed away suddenly in May. My parents lived in Hubbard Lake, MI (up north), and now my mom is moving down state to be closer to us kids. She has found a cute home just about 1/4 mile from my brother and I.

My question is this: what kind of a moving announcement do you recommend for this situation? I made really cute moving announcements for them when they moved up there 6 years ago, but cute just doesn't seem appropriate this time.

Please help! Thanks in advance,

Jennifer

Not sure if you wanted to stamp the cards or not. But if your time is limited right now, Sam's CLub has some nice moving announcement cards. You mentioned that she is moving to a cute new house. You could take a photo of it and take it to Sam's and they will put it into a card format with her name and new address. You can also add a bit of customization. I am going to do this when we move into our new home because I know I will not have a lot of time to make my own cards. They are very inexpensive and they are very nice.

BTW. I am sorry for the loss of your father. I hope all goes well with your mom's move.

Most people will know why your mom is moving, right? Maybe a cute announcement would be nice, but I can see why you would think it's inappropriate. Honestly if I had a "we've moved" set in any style I'd just use that, I wouldn't buy a new set. Sorry if that doesn't help much.

And sorry on the loss of your father.

My condolences with the passing of your father. May you and your family soon feel at peace.

"Right at Home" is a great set for this. You can make some formal ones with it - check it out in the gallery.

Hope this helps.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your father. :(

I was also going to suggest "Right at Home" but the new accessories for "Loads of Love" also has a just moved set and it is rather cute!!

Honestly, I don't think that cutesy would be a bad thing.. Anyone she is sending moving announcements too would surely understand that she is moving on and doing what she needs to do to deal with her grief.

Hope that helps.

Oh yeah- If you don't have Right at Home and would like some images stamped of it, let me know..

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your father. I lost my father recently and I know how hard it must be for you.

When I bought my house, I took a picture of it and mounted it on confetti cream cardstock with a layer of garden green, then printed my name, address, phone number and email address on the inside piece.

It was subdued and people LOVED it.

Good luck!

Tina
