I need to make a "Paid off Mortgage" Congrats card. HELP!
Do anyone have any suggestions on a cute or funny way to make a congratulations card for a friend who recently paid off her mortage? She is having a "burn the motgage papers" party on Friday and I would really like to make a card for her. Thanks!!

Nothing too creative here....just thought that the Good Neighbors (SU) set would be great set to use for anything house related. COngrats to your friends....that's quite an achievement these days!

That's exactly what I was going to say. Both things.
You can print your own message on cardstock using the RGB colors and it would look as professional as stamping.
The first thing I thought of was how as soon as you pay your car off, you start to have repair expenses. So it feels like you still have a car payment. Don't know if that works for a house too. LOL
JI was thinking a large house like Right at Home (retired set) with a tag hanging from the chimney or a sign in the yard that says "PAID." Sounds like a happy occasion for your friends (wouldn't know -- we're eternal renters).

This reminds me, a church I attended in high school paid off their mortgage and they had a "mortgage shredding" party. They photocopied the mortgage and everyone in church got to go by the shredder. There were about 80 members in that church then. That was a fun event.
Thanks guys! Your ideas are great! I am just new to the stamping world and I don't have a house stamp...yet!!! I am planning on one real soon! I think I will put a paper piecing of a house with the sold tag on it...I love that! I am a scrapbooker so I am very familiar with paper piecing. Thanks guys!! I will post a picture when I am done with it!

Great ideas! I'm going to need a card like this for a friend of mine shortly and I'll have to remember some of these ideas.
I'm probably of no help here, but I can't get the 'There's no place like home' saying out of my head. That might make a good sentiment for your card.
As suggested above there is the Good Neighbors stamp set, the Right at Home image is a good one too, and there is also a house image in SU's To You & Yours set, SU's Dreams & Dragons has a castle image- that's a house, right?
How about maybe using a bird house image (if you have one)? You could use the 'home tweet home' saying and perhaps put a paid tag on is somewhere.
I was going to offer to send you a house image, but you won't receive it in time. Maybe you can look for a digi house image?
How about a stamp from an office supply store (or someone's office") that just says, PAID IN FULL.....I would just stamp that all by itself on a blank card, then congratulations on the inside. Good for them!
Thank you guys so much! Patty, I checked out that website and I think that I am going to buy a few things from there (including a house image!!)...the images are so cute!! Nancy, my in-laws (who live very close to me) owns a store and they have a Paid stamp...so, I think I may put the image of the house and have a tag coming off with the paid stamp on it.

You're welcome, so glad I was able to help out and your are right the images on that site were so cute.
I just thought of another idea. You could make a house out of punches. Well you really wouldn't even need any punches, just cut your paper into squares. I found a card in the gallery for an example:
That card is awesome! I have my house image printed now and I just have to wait to get home (I am work right now) to color it in. I should have the image of the card on here before the night is over.

I got it done!! I made it pretty simple: punched the edges of some pp with a Martha Steward punch, printed the digital stamp and water colored it and added the tag. I think it came out alright! Thanks, guys, for all your help!
