My camera is great for everything BUT taking pictures of my cards! I just can't seem to get a good picture! They always come out dingy and have a yellowish hue. I'm wondering if a scanner is the way to go? My computer uses Windows XP Professional. If anyone has any input on what kind of scanner works good, prices, whatever....I would appreciate it! Any tips with the camera I'll take them, too!
I have an HP scanner that I bought several years ago that does a really good job getting a good picture of the cards I make. Sorry I don't really have any idea of current prices but I'm sure you can find some good prices on buy.com or amazon.com. I really like my HP scanner.

I normally have to take my pictures without a flash...I don't know if you have tried that or not!
Thanks, I have tried it with/without flash...more light, less light, bathroom, kitchen....ugh! Other than that it's an awesome camera! See my avatar, that's Scooby!

I just remembered one of the teachers my husband works with also has an HP....it's really nice and small, too. I will definately check that out, thank you!!! ;)
I also have an HP scanner/printer/copier. I love it and it wasn't that expensive. I got it at Staples (3820?). I'm at work right now so I can't look at it. It prints photos nice as well. You just stick the card in the front and away you go. The program it came with is really easy to use, which is necessary for me. I love the scans as well.
The expert photography guy at my local computer shop says that scanners do *not* need to be costly. Picture editing software might make a difference but scanners, he says, are pretty much alike.

Ooohhh....I thought something like that existed! Thanks, I will go check that out. If I can ever get off this website! LOL! Thanks for the info!!!
I got a Brother FAX/SCAN/COPIER from Costco for $250 (I think) and it has been wonderful. When I have taken pictures of my cards with the camera because they couldn't be scanned, I try to use natural light and they seem to do great.

Thanks for the tips! If tomorrow is sunny, I'll go outside and try it! I also have a B.J.'s membership...never even thought to look there!
I have an Epson scanner. it works great! I also have an Epson printer that can print 12 x 12 papges, and the two machines work well together since they are same manufacturer. If you have a HP printer, I'd get an HP scanner. Epson printer, Epson scanner.
I also have Panorama Maker 3 softeware by Arc Soft for using with my scanner. I can scan 12 x 12 pages EASILY with this software and print duplicates or make smaller versions of my pages for grandparents.
I have also used my scanner to make background papers and I use it all the time as a cheaper copier (for printing on my laser printer) for just about anything we need to copy.
I think scanners are well worth the price...you can find less expensive versions that work great...or check out refurbished ones through the company website.

I got a scanner from Walmart cannon I think. It was under 100 and works like a charm. I would highly recommend buying one. I use for scanning regular pictures into my computer to e-mail as well.
