Hello
I BRIEFLY saw a TAC catalog and FELL (had over heals) in love with the stamps. I want to be a demo, but I have a few questions. I am only going in for personal use, what is the quarterly min? Do they have problems with personal use only? I also wanted to know if someone has a catty I can borrow to help me pick out my starter kit (i may just use the site). I am nervous. I have used SU for years as my primary source for stamping needs, so I am a bit nervous to get involved with a new company, but the stamps are soooooo cute....any suggestions?
Thanks :-)
Monica

t-coded stamps make up roughly 90% of the catalog. The other stamps are coded with an R, TG, TA, TB, TC, or TD. The item number will start with a "T-" and these are the sets you can include in your started kit. Don't forget to add your bonus sets for new October demos.
thanks for the info gals. My PM's are coming in like crazy. I am in-love. I wish I could just go to the store and get my kit. But I will get come practice in control....:-)

If you've been using SU for years, why not consider joining SU? We have GREAT demo forums here and the company is just amazing to work with. The quotas are a bit more but we have a lot of great stuff which is easy to sell.
Can I give some unsolicited advice? When picking an upline to sign under, be careful. Don't just go with anyone who sends you a nice message, or offers a deal. Even if you are just in it as a hobby and dont' intend to sell, this person will make money off of your sales, so choose wisely!! Ask what she offers her downline, is she making money, if in your area, how does she handle customers that know you, etc. Oh, and enjoy!!

The thing to consider is that SU has a 300.00 per quarter minimum whether you are a hobbiest or not, and TAC doesn't have one that high, I think it is 25.00 a month or 75.00 a quarter.
HI have a friend who is a SU demo, that is why SU wasn't really a good option for me. I also, to be quite honest....dare I say....I LOVE SU colors and papers/assessories, however, I am a bit bored with their stamps.
I also saw online that you can become a TAC demo w/o a downline or upline. with their application. I just wanted someone via email that I can ask questions etc. to.
I really appreciate all the info everyone is giving me.
Thanks I look forward to my new sources :-)
Have a great Monday

also, is there a "special" TAC demo board here. My GF has access to a SU demo only board that is AWSOME. Do we get that too?thanks again
On SCS there is not a demo board for TAC. However as a TAC demo you do have access to yahoo groups and also on http://www.ashadeofblue.net/Boards/portal.php there is a TAC demo only section that you can join. But SCS has wonderful resources that can be used no matter who you demo for.
I became a TAC demo for that very purpose - personal use only. I have several friends who order from me and have had NO difficulty meeting the minimum. I will always love SU - I dream in the 48 colors - but no way could I meet a $300 minimum per quarter. I have not felt an ounce of pressure from TAC to do more than I'm doing.
This is a great time to join, too! Until the end of the month, you get several extra sets in your kit. Details can be found on the company website - here: http://www.theangelcompany.net/
Look under opportunities.
What's that I hear? Must be the sound of new wings!

As Lisa said, this is a very good month to sign up to become a TAC Demo. Your bonus for the month of October is 6 additional T coded stamp set! What a way to get started!
I know you will enjoy being and Angel and everyone will welcome you in.
Just so you know, A Shade of Blue is open to everyone, not just TAC. There is an Angel only forum, but all stampers are Welcome anytime, all the time!
Enjoy!

I sent in my paperwork to become a TAC demo last week and CAN"T WAIT to get my starter kit!!!!! I LOVE SU, but didn't want the pressure of meeting the high minimums (plus TAC's starter kit was $50 less and came with more!). Can't wait to get started!! : )
Kati
I just want to say congratulations to all of you who are becoming new angels or even just thinking about it! It's soooo exciting!
Like others have mentioned - being a hobbiest is totally do-able with TAC with the low requirements. No pressure whatsoever! One thing to remember - if you are only ordering for yourself, be sure to place your orders at regular price and get your commission back. If you place demo discount orders, those do NOT count toward that $100-every-4-months requirement. There is only a 5% difference between your commission and your discount anyway. ;)
Just a thought - you may want to start saving for seminar June 2007. It will be TAC's 10th Anniversary seminar. I'm planning to go and it will be my first one! Should be a big deal!
Vicki,
Awsome site!! Very well done, and explained very well.
I am so geeked! I sell Mary Kay, to myself and to friends and family. I could totally have a business with that, but I am a S.E. teacher @ heart. I love "paper crafts" and with my GF selling SU, me being an "angel" is perfect. I should get my catalog this week....i'll be looking every day...and selecting my starter kit.
So lets get this straight.
supplies (with 30% disc) do NOT count towards your $100
a purchase with a 25% disc does count towards your $100
and of course tax is added probibly to to the original amount pre.discount.
Does the website for ordering walk you through all the disc stuff, or do you have to calculate it yourself? AND do you get the "commission" right away (or the % off right away or do you wait for monthly/quarterly dispersment?
Thanks again!

You get 30% off right away, but for your 25% commission, you have to wait. Checks are sent out twice monthly. Right now I don't believe you can place 30% demonstrator discount orders through angelnet (our online ordering system) HTH
Sandy
That's correct Sandy. For demo disount orders, you still have to fax, email, or snail-mail it in. Also correct, commission periods close on the 15th and last day of the month. You do have to pay full price off the top, then wait for a paycheck. I love it cause I don't have to worry about figuring how much to keep at the time of ordering.
On angelnet - you order regular price products, customer direct orders, or supply orders (order forms, catalogs, invites, things to run your business).
I might add here a quote directly from the policy manual:
"All personal monthly net sales are figured on a monthly schedule beginning the first day of the month and ending on the last day of the month. Commission checks are sent out twice a month. For orders received in the office from the 1st – 15th, checks begin processing on the 16th. For orders received in the office from the 16th – 31st, checks begin processing on the 1st. All checks are mailed out 5 business days after the close of the commission period and are mailed to you via USPS."
I hope that helps too! :-)

T-Coded stamps are TAC stamps. R-Coded stamps Belong to Mabelle Ramirez-Orties This is her line of Stamps and Paper.
The thing to consider is that SU has a 300.00 per quarter minimum whether you are a hobbiest or not, and TAC doesn't have one that high, I think it is 25.00 a month or 75.00 a quarter.
TAC is $100 every 4 months!! IN RETAIL SALES
It's not A Quarter...We do not do Quaters.

Sandy
Sandy, I have highlight something in your post,That I have a of Question on?
1st: A purchase with a 25% discount does count toward your $100.00!
What do you mean by this??????
You don't get 25% discount.
YES you EARN a 25% commission on all RETAIL Sales. Is this what you meant??
And no you can not do Demo Discount through our Angelnet. Those have to go Via Snail mail, Email, or Fax.
and of course tax is added probibly to to the original amount pre.discount
I wanted to clarify this statement.
If you order as a customer direct or workshop order (even if the demo is the "customer" or "host") then tax and shipping is pre-discount, and the 25% commission only comes off the retail value.
If you order as a demo discount (not exactly the same thing as a supply order- supplies are things like catalogs, TAC pens, TAC utility knifes etc... demo discount is 30% off anything in the catalog) you take the discount off the retail value and THEN calculate sales tax and shipping- so you save more than 30%.
As a mostly hobby demo (I don't do workshops, but do have hostess clubs) if my minimum has been met I order as a demo discount order, because it saves me a lot of money. I understand I don't earn career points, but I'm not planning on wanting a promotion. If my minimum has not been met, I order as a customer direct. IF my order is greater than $100 I order as a workshop so I can get benefits.
HTH. It's really not that confusing, but there is a lot to know about.

If you break it down its 22 bucks and some change a week to stay a SU! demo. So when you say 300 for a quarter does sound like a lot. You don't have to sell to anyone. With take you have to have retail sales. Also SU! doesn't pressure you to do anymore then you want to do. You always get 20% discount no matter the order. TAC's benefits are to complicated to remember. I would need a big cheat sheet to remember everything.
Also SU! doesn't pressure you to do anymore then you want to do.
I'm interested to know what it is that TAC presssures you to do more than you want to do?
TAC is very friendly for hobby demos. If you are only being a hobby demo, and not selling to anyone else, you need only spend $6.25 a week ($8.33 a week, and then 25% is returned through a commission check.) If you sell to other people to meet your minimums, which you can do without doing workshops, then you can take an even bigger discount by buying non-retail at a 30% discount (which also saves tax and shipping, since it is calculated after the discount).
I also saw online that you can become a TAC demo w/o a downline or upline. with their application. I just wanted someone via email that I can ask questions etc. to.
Just so you know- you do need an upline- his/her information goes at the bottom of the page, however, you don't need to know them. I met my upline here on SCS and she's great.
If you are only going to be a hobbyist, then just sign up under whomever is the most helpful- if they are another hobbyist, they won't make any money off of you- there is a minimum sales requirement to get override commissions, if you plan at all to be a career Angel, do a bit of research and find someone who is building a team who can help you grow your business.

If you looked at my post you can see the lady said that TAC doesn't pressure, you. I was stating that SU! does not pressure. If you want to be your only customer you can. I am just seeing the benefits from TAC. We get instant income so we don't have to wait for our check. But we do get a volume rebate depending on your sales at the end of the month.

Okay, sorry to be defensive, I missed that part. I agree- neither company pressures you, they both allow you to be a hobby demo is you wish.
But the original poster said her friend is an SU demo, which is why she didn't want to be one- so I was confused about your post. My apologies.
The benefit of TAC is the low minimum, you can be a hobbyist without troubles, not hard to meet that, and then you get 25.00 back on it. SU! is 100.00 per month and you only get 20% back on it. So yes it is 20.00 a week, but not many people can give up that much and have a happy hubby.
