Default An idea to donate altered notebooks

I found an outlet for the altered composition books! I used to help facilitate a grief support group at our hospital for parents who suffered pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or neonatal death, and there was a note in our church bulletin today about the group at the hospital that makes stuff (outfits, burial outfits, hats, blankets etc) for preemies and those babies that die.

And I started thinking, how could I help? I can't knit hats. I can't sew outfits. And then I thought of journalling, and notebooks. So I called the coordinator and I think she really likes the idea.

*warm fuzzies* I so don't need another thing to do, but who cares? This is so near and dear to my heart, parents so appreciate those things that acknowledge that they had a *baby* and I just can't not do it.

So if you are so inclined, consider something like this. Most hospitals have groups that do something for parents who have a loss, and you can call and find out who's in charge.

My sister was sewing covered composition notebooks for the spouses of soldiers at war..so they could journal their thoughts/feelings...

I think that's really sweet that you're doing that for those that have lost children.

What a great idea! Another off-shoot of the idea...donate to Children's Hospitals (or ANY hospitals) to encourage patients to journal their experiences. A very healthy way to promote coping!
