Default Idea for Foam stamps

So I got a really good deal on some foam stamps (to supplement SU - definitely not replace). I had an idea and wanted to run it by folks for feedback. I am considering getting some wood blocks (a kids set probably). Then I will cut off most, but not all, of the foam from the stamps and mount them to the blocks with rubber cement.

Does anyone have any advice against doing this? Even though I got a really good deal, I don't want to ruin the stamps.

I like your idea - I have some foam stamps I like - but it's hard to hang onto them and do a good job stamping with them, adding the block of wood would work well - good luck!

Default Foam stamps

Here's what I did with my Rubber Stampede foam stamps.

Microwave the stamp for about 10 seconds and then pull the rubber off of the foam. I mounted the rubber to EZ cling, trimmed them down and I store them in CD cases. When I want to stamp I just stick them on an acrylic block and ink up...when done, peel them off, rinse and put away. So simple!

You could also buy red cushion and remount them to that and then to wood blocks.

You can probably find either online...I know TAC sells the ez cling cushion (8.5 x 11) for $5.

Good luck!

If you want the double stick mounting material, they sell it at Blockheads by the sheet. They do not sell the wood blocks anymore. The foam part is black instead of gray. You have to order a minimum of $10 from them but they have good stuff and they take Pay Pal if you like to pay that way.
