I'm getting married in September (second time for us both, so it will be a small wedding). I ordered some organdy bags for favors and stamped some tags to attach. . .but now I don't know what to put inside! I asked my "other half" if he had any ideas or things that meant something to him, but he had no ideas. (men, sheesh! )
Anyone have any thoughts? Should I do candy? I'm even open to putting something small inside the bag that's stamped, but I don't know what would fit.
small tins (stamp the top) with wedding mints? you can get small notebooks at oriental trading and remove the covers and replace with a stamped bride and groom (I just ordered some for an easter notepad swap and they are adorablly small and cute).
also check this link for ideas for wedding favors http://www.myweddingfavors.com/ they have small candles, lip butter, sachets, soaps etc.

My niece and I did Hershey Kisses and Hugs for her wedding favors. Her colors were purple and silver so we got the dark chocolate purple kisses and the silver kisses and the hugs.
On the tag we wrote: Hugs and Kisses from the new Mr. and Mrs. - Thank you so much for being a part of our wedding day - and then put their names and the wedding date.
The M&M website you can order the mega size ones with your names or the wedding date on them......in your wedding colors!
Cool Idea! I think candy is a good idea too, and m&m and hershey kisses appeal to adults and children. I remember my friend had little packages with hershey's minatures at her wedding.....she had the wrappers specially made to have their name and the date of the wedding on them.
Also you could do seasonal candy.......my aunt had a fall themed wedding and did candy corn. If your wedding's this spring I'm sure you could find lots variety of easter candies to use.
Congrats on your wedding! I'm sure everyone will love the party favors whatever you do, especialy cause you made them yourself.
Since you are getting married in September, what about something with a leaf shape? Leaf shaped chocolates.....leaf shaped bath beads, leaf shaped decorated sugar cookies.....do you have a theme for your wedding? Try tying that in or where you live.......

First of all, best wishes!
When my daughter got married we made favors using Yankee candle votives in their "Wedding Day" scent. They were a huge hit. I still have one that I didn't burn and the fragrance always takes me back to that happy day!
When my daughter got married I made beaded wine charms. I got the charms wholesale. They turned out really cute. I put 2 charms in each bag. She had 400 guests so it took me awhile. They were simple, I had round wire like a slinky, cut just as it overlapped, crimped the end added beads, a jump ring with charm then crimped the other end! Everyone seemed to like them!
I posted this in a previous post abt weddings, so sorry if it's a repeat, but I think it's a GREAT idea! I made little favors for my sister's wedding with fresh coffee beans in them and the tags said "a perfect blend" and thier names and dates. Was a 2nd marriage for both of them and combining families.
My daughter and her husband got specific flavors of jelly belly jellybeans. Since their wedding was in October, they got flavors that were fall colors. If you can't find them in your local stores where you get them in the bins, you can order them direct from jelly belly in california.
My BIL also did soap covered with a sentiment and pretty paper.

Since you're getting married in September, how about flower bulbs? You could get small ones like crocus that will bloom in the spring. We did that for our favors (even though we were married in June) and so many people still comment on "our flowers" that are growing in their yards!

That's a neat idea! Guess I'd forgotten they had that particular scent. Actually, all the ideas here are great, great, great! I hope they help others too.
When I got married I got the M&M's with our first names on one and our wedding date on the other. Our colors were Purple and Cream. We put them in the small organza bags and everyone loved them. We had a little favor party at my mom's to put them together. I still have a bag that I saved...Wonder if they will still be good??

I got married in Oct 04 and ordered foil covered chocolate leaves. I wanted something fall like. I would have preferred candy corn, but DH hates it. I also looked at doing ornaments since we had 50 guests so it would have been easy. What about little picture frames that fit in the bags?
