Default If you have a stamp room.... here's a question for you

Hello all! My DH is finally getting all the mudding & taping done in my stamp room!! I am going to use one of the walls for cabinet storage - base cabinets & wall cabinets, about 8 feet. I was wondering, for any of you who already have stamp rooms, what kind of base cabinets did you use? Ones with storage like the regular kitchen cabinets, or ones with drawers? I am leaning toward cabinets with drawers since the wall cabinets will have storage space. I will also have a "built in" bookshelf where I plan on putting my stamp sets - easy access, and really have three other walls I can put cabinets or other storage units on. I just want this room to look nice, since you have to go through it to get to the toy room and the great room in our basement. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!
Chris

I am in thr planning stages with my DH of building up a section of our bedroom (an alcove) with a new worktable...

I am planning on anchoring the worktable with base kitchen cabinets with doors - but have the pull out shelves on runners in them -that way I can put my stuff in baskets and other containers and sit them on the shelf - if I need something I can just pull out the shelf, pull out the basket with the stuff I need and shut everything back up.

My base is six (2 drawer units) lateral files cabinets with a laminate 12 foot counter over them. Each end is double stacked and there are two in the middle. I never thought I'd grow into such a huge space; but I have!!!! Mu SU sets are maintained in two 4 drawer file cabinets (the old fashioned, petite kind I picked up at a garage sale). Works great. I have a stamping hutch too.

Good luck with your new area. I'm sure you will love and use it!!!!

Most of my base is drawers--different sizes. The deep kitchen drawers used for pots & pans are great for the plastic cases on their sides (you get more in that way!!). The shallow drawers used for silverware are great for loose stamps and embellishments.

Good luck---you're going to love it!!

My base is a solid wood dresser. I love this because of the deep drawers, how sturdy it is, and the flat top can hold a lot of weight.

You'll love your room! Have fun!

Default stamp room

You all posted some great ideas! Now I am really going to have to sit down and see what I will use more - drawers or storage that I can put pull out shelves in. I am going to have a counter top across these, so workspace will not be an issue. Also, on the other side of the room we have a huge window cut into the wall so I can watch the kids in their room & still keep stamping. I think I am going to put in 2 drawer filing cabinets their with some sort of counter top so I can sit and work. Not to mention the table in the midle of the room as well. So when I have my stamp clubs we can all sit & work downstairs and my DH can keep the kids upstairs.

Thanks again for all of your suggestions, you ladies are great!!!
Chris
