Talking If you love Everyday Flexible Phrases, check this out!!!!

I just had to share my latest *find*!!!!
I just love making little "flags" with Everyday Flexible Phrases. Now, I'm finding that I need *more* words but I'm not ready to drop $40 on Expressive Flexible Phrases (especially with the Summer Mini and new IBC around the corner).
So in my quest to save a few bucks, I found clear word stamps by Impression Obsession and they're WONDERFUL!!! They mount on any acrylic block, they're really inexpensive and there's about 65+ words. Some are duplicates of Everyday Flex Phrases, but that's OK with me because they're in a really kewl font!! Here's the link if anyone is interested:

http://impression-obsession.com/Merc...tegory_Code=CS

This company really has a great selection of clear stamps and they're great to do business with!!

This is awesome Darleen!! One question though- I am guessing that they done come with anything to mount them too, am I correct?

Where would you get the blocks and on average how much do those cost?

Michelle, you can get a cheap acrylic block for under $3.

OR, you can always put them on the top of a wood block (on the sticker) and then peel it up when you are done... it is really easy! Just stamp with it and then take it off the wood block.

I can't stand the feel of acrylic, so I would do that (the wood block thing) versus having to touch an acrylic block! ;)

So they peel of easily and won't fall off after time when I try to stamp with them?

The real benefit of the clear block is that you can line up one word, or a whole phrase, on the acrylic block and *see* exactly where you want to place it. IMHO, it really takes that "I hope this looks OK" feeling out of stamping. If your looking for acrylic blocks, AC Moore has them and Impression Obsession does also.

You are AB FAB for posting this for us. That is exactly why I love this site and visit the forums. Never mind the fact that I end up spending WAY more money on my hobby than I would probably like or can afford. I love getting all these hints and tips. Thanks for your generosity in sharing this information. I checked the link out and you are right it is a great accompaniment to the EFP set I already have. Guess, I'll be among the many that visit your thread that buys it.

I have this exact set and I love it. Just last week I made card with "happy birthday to a special niece" from this set. Cool, cool, cool. I bought mine from impression obsession and they are great. They are not super fast with shipping so be patient!

another option when you are going to cut out the paper and add to a card is to just print out a page of words or phrases on cardstock. I do that and you can get a LOT of phrases and words in all different colors and fonts on one page. It is a lot of fun to do.

ps. of course, that isn't "stamping" is it??

Thanks for the link Darleen and that's a great idea Joan; as a matter of fact, that's what I did when I recently cased one of Darleen's great cards! Isn't that what they call 6 degrees of separation, (or at least 2!)!

Joan, that is a good idea. I have done that quite a bit when I don't have the right phrase or word. Except I just print a word or two at a time, and use the rest of the sheet to cut for smaller layers, so it is not wasted. But I am sure I still need a set of the word stamps so I can stamp directly on whatever image Iam stamping.

If you buy unmounted sets only, the shipping was $4.05, but I'm not sure how many sets that will get you. I only ordered this because I wanted to see if I was going to like them or not. I'll most likely be getting some more the unmounted word sets in the near future!!

Love this website, thanks for the tip Darleen. I am planning to place an order and noticed that they also sell acrylic blocks. What size would you purchase? What do you think is the easiest to use, and can be used the most? I have never used these before and just am unsure as to what size to buy. Thanks!

Well my stamps came in today and I just love, love, love them. I love the size, font and the variety this set gives me....just terrific. I also purchased a couple more stamps "Happy Thanksgiving", "Happy Birthday", and "With Sympathy", I was a bit disappointed in the font size..it is larger than I anticipated. But I am sure I will still use them and $6.50 was a pretty good price for them.

Thanks again Darleen for the great tip!

Darleen, thanks for the information about these word stamps and answering my PM about the acrylic blocks! My stamps got here this week and I just LOVE them ... fast shipping to Canada also, so I was very happy all around with their service. Geez, how did I spend all my money before I discovered SCS? LOL.

Default Wow!

Well I was just browsing around on SCS, having never been here before and I find this awesome thread about MY company! I'm so psyched!

Thanks a TON Darleen for sharing your "find" on here. I thought it was a little weird that we just got a bunch of orders for these sets. Now you're shaming me into updating my site as there are more clear sets that aren't even on there yet! We're a pretty small company and I wear many hats...one of which is the webmaster. Sometimes I get caught up in other stuff and it slips...

I'm adding a bunch in the next couple of months too as I just LOVE using them. My company is a traditional wood mounted company, but I personally find myself using my clear stamps 95% of the time lately. Fun stuff!

A note about shipping. It's true that sometimes we have gotten a little slow on shipping but I did recently hire an employee whose sole job it is to handle our website orders. We sell mostly wholesale and in the past it was too easy to let web orders get out of control while we work on wholesale orders. Hopefully those of you who have ordered recently will receive much faster service!

I'm so excited to see people talking about my stamps that I'm adding a 10% coupon code just for you guys at SCS. The code is "SCS" and you just need to enter it at checkout and it will give you 10% off your order! A note about shipping in response to some questions above...if you're just ordering clear stamps or unmounted rubber stamps, you can choose the "Unmounted Only" option for shipping which is $4.05 (flat rate priority mail rate). If you're in Canada you can choose that same option, all other overseas orders are $9.50 which is the global priority large flat rate mailer rate. Shipping for orders with acrylic blocks or regular wood mounted stamps is based on a table with all orders over $100 receiving free shipping.

Happy stamping everyone!

Default Sentiments 1

I had originally thought of doing a "booster" set to accompany Sentiments I since I've had people suggest other words to me on and off since I made that set. I have a new mini-size set that's 3" x 4" and I think I'll do that in the next supplement.

I'm writing down your words and if anyone else has words they like to see as an addition to that set feel free to e-mail them to me at [email protected] and I'll see what I can come up with.

Mitra, I love the idea of a "booster" set to accompany Sentiments 1!! When do you think you'll have it on the site because I'd love to order that as well!! Thanks again!!

I love these stamps. Impression Obsession had a booth at the Mesquite stamp show in January and I bought 7 sets of clear stamps. I finally started using them about a month ago and I just love them. They stamp very well and I love that you can see where you are stamping. Another good "word" set is Express Yourself. I also have a set for Baby and Family both really nice.
