I purchased the sample set CTMH was offering when they first came out with their new acrylics. Is it just my imagination, or do the images not stamp "clean and crisp." I've tried and tried, but I'm not getting crisp lines. Also, I'm finding the large tag stamp doesn't ink consistently, meaning it's sort of splotchy. Does this happen to you? I guess I'm wondering if this is because of the type of material they are made out of.
Also, I thought I read a post listing things you could NOT do with this type of stamp, such as bleaching since it will wear the material down. What other things can you not do with these.
I have had the same experience with the new CTMH acrylic stamps. I later thought that I may be pressing down too hard. Maybe the acrylic is softer than what we are used to using. The extra pressure may make the lines thicker and less crisp. Just a thought-
Are you putting the foam insert that comes in the package under your cardstock before you stamp it? I was told that makes a difference because it provides a cushion that the acrylic stamp doesn't have. If that doesn't help, I'm not sure what will. I've had good luck so far with the sets I've bought.
I went to a CTMH workshop recently and they had us stamp on a mouse pad (like for a computer) and the images came out great. I have even been doing this with SU stamps since then. I get a better image, especially with solid stamps, when I use the mouse pad under my paper.
tdean32: Do you have any of the word stamps? Those are the ones I'm really interested in. I LOVE them and want to use them but am afraid the words are going to be "fuzzy" around the outside like the image stamps.
I've used the foam pad and it didn't seem to make a difference when stamping. Does anyone think it has anything to do with using SU! ink?
I asked my CTMH demo about this because I was also getting fuzziness. She told me to stamp off on a scratch paper a few times to season the stamp and then do it on my cardstock and it worked for me. I get clean lines now.
I've used some of them and I've had good results. I was also told to "season them" by stamping off a couple times before I tried using them for a project. I've been very happy with my CTMH stamps but of course I love my Stampin' Up stamps as well!

I have heard Staz-on should not be used on these. Also be mindful of leaving them in hot places (like in a car on a hot day) b/c the acrylic can bcome stuck to the case and rip when it is trying to be removed.
