>>....The females are wishing they had arts and craft type items to make cards and scrap books. The other day we had this lady send two boxes of Stampin' Up type cards. It was so awesome! I was envious at the fact that someone was able to do something that I had not done since I left home. I am a scrapbooker. I love to take pics and put them in a nice arrangement. And nothing says I love you, thanks, happy birthday, etc........ better than a homemade card. At home I even have a special stamp that says handmade by me.
There are so many things that we are thankful all of you do for us. The biggest thing we appreciate is the smiles on your faces when we come home from a trip to Iraq/Kuwait/Afgahanastan. We love the fact that the American population is happy to see us. Not every war has been this way.
Thanks for all that you do for us....
Where will these supplies be going? Are you sending them to an MWR where everyone can use them? I have some stuff that I had in Iraq that is on its way back to me in the mail (I shipped them to Germany thinking I was going there - but ended up back home). I would like to make sure the stuff is going somewhere that many could share
I don't know what MWR stands for. I was doing an anysoldier.com search and found someone requesting stamping/craft items for the females. All I know is she is a Sgt in Kuwait. I'm going to go through my stuff and send her a box of items for crafting.

MWR stands for Morale Welfare and Recreation. They have MWR buildings - I have the ink spots that I would like to have at an MWR building so anyone that wanted to use them could. I figured it was the best way to share with the most people. When are you sending your box out? I am not sure when my stuff will arrive...
Count me in on contributing something - just not sure what yet - I know those serving in Kuwait have much more free time and I would like to be able to give them something to use to fill that time.
You're right - an MWR would be the perfect place to send it; but I only have this soldier's request and all I now is there are multiple soldiers in her unit that will be using teh supplies - Who knows, maybe some of the males will become crafters? .
I'm going to send the box when I have it filled. I'm heading to Michaels today to pick up white paper and to see whats in the $1 bin.
If I come across a post on anysoldier for a MWR type unit , I'll let you know.

Thats OK - dont worry about looking on anysoldiers - I think I am going to send a box to the girl who runs the MWR at Camp Fallujah. I will still send some stuff to you for the box you are filling(whenever I get my boxes)
