I'm officially afraid of the new SU catty coming out!!!
I'm afraid because i got a hefty bonus last week and I know that i'll have the money to splurge on the new catty. And I am SUCH an impule buyer.........it's really quite pathetic! I decided to only order a set or two off teh retire list...................only b/c i knew that this new catty would have even more great things that i would "have to have". Course I still have brand new set that haven't even been inked!!
So are you setting a budget for the new catty, pacing yourself month by month? I'm one to have to get it all at the same time so it'll be there when i need it............lol
I place a $150 order at SAB. During the year I can refill supplies from SU if I absolutely need them or if I am invited to a party (where it would be rude not to buy).
So my only problem with the new catalog is figuring out when SAB might be!

Oh great idea!!! ........................so i wonder when it will be is it usually the same month every year?
My understanding is that in the past SAB has been in January-Febuary. But with SU going to two catties a year they may be changing when SAB will be held. I too wish I knew when it would be. I try to place an order to qualify for hostess and get some of the SAB sets.

I too, had to have EVERYTHING in the catalog last year...but ONLY bought 2 new sets (1 sentiment, 1 image) and the In Colors for my first order. I went through the catty with my handy dandy post-it flags, and marked of everything I 'needed'. I have ordered stuff since then, but I occasionally look through and think "why on earth did I tab THAT?" so I'm glad I did things the way I did...
However, I did order a LOT more stamps from the preview than I planned to...since I've been a demo I've never bought any of the preview sets, I didn't like them, this year I liked them all, but limited myself to 3...so if it's a sign of what's to come, then yes, I'm afraid too!!
I will try and stick to my 2 stamp set rule, and since I could order the new colors this year, I'll perhaps get some new accessories...we'll see....
Yes, I am afraid too! If the preview brochure is any indication then I'm in big trouble.
My problem with this catty is I ordered everything I wanted pretty early on in the year so the last several months there's been nothing else I wanted. I am going to force myself to space it out more but thankfully we'll be getting a new catalog in January!!

My strategy is telling myself that I don't have to order everything I want at once, I have at least a year to order what I want. That may not work as well though with two catalogs this year!!
I second the post-it sticky flags. I found out that there are a lot of sets I thought were amazing to befin with, and now I don't really care for them. I am a sucker for the in colors, I feel like I have to have them all. Maybe allow yourself to buy 2 sets (if that is in your budget) and then wait 6-8 weeks before you buy more. Because we all KNOW that these amazing SCSers will wow us with sets we would have never thought to buy, and then that will be one more to our "have-to-have" list.
God bless.
Well, I have the opposite problem ~ I have *no* money, lol. Really trying to get a handle on our finances, & I've only spent $60 on stamping stuff in the past 2 months, which is really good for me!! Unfortunately, I want to order a bunch of ink pads & reinkers before the prices go up. I know they're not going up a *huge* amount, but I know I'll buy them eventually so it may as well be now.
I really didn't want to love the new In Colors, but from the samples I've seen so far (especially Jeanne's!!!) I will need them :::sigh::: I really hope I hate every single stamp set in the new catty!
Okay, how often have the seasonal/little flyer stamp sets been put in the "big" catalog? I, too, don't have much money and want to see what I MUST order before the end of the month. I'm going to get some In-Color ink. I'm just wondering if the baby announcement set from the "little flyer" is going to be in the new big catalog? if so, then I can wait. How bad is that?
thanks!
Good idea about the post-it flags! I'm heading to Seaside, OR on July 1 (so my catty better be here by then!) so I'll add that to my list of things to take. Another thing I'm doing is holding off until towards the end of July to place my first order. That will give me some time to think on it and not be so impulsive. Plus a chance to watch the gallery and see the awesome samples to help me decide!
My SU Demo does a monthly club where we each take a turn being the hostess without having a party. So I will be spreading my orders out over a 12 month period and during my hostess month I usually order $100 or more in items.

I'm in a similar club where 6 of us spend $25 each month. I also get bonus $ for Christmas so I save that and place a big order in January because that has been when SAB was held.

Oh someone help me.
I'm with you girl. I have been purposely holding off on spending on stamps because I just know this catty will be filled with new goodies. As much as they are retiring, I'm expecting a large number of new sets! I'm just ITCHING to get the catty.

The official SU line is that very few of the sets from the seasonal minis will be part of the catalogs. I would also warn you that the set may not be available at all or may not be in until the spring edition of the 2/yr. catalog,
so... if you want it, ya better get it!!! I learned that lesson with Long Time Friend... which I missed:(!
I get my new catty preview stuff in the mail today, I can't wait! It's going to get me ready to spend spend spend too. I always get a bonus in July so it's perfect timing to blow a huge amount on new goodies!
