Out and about with DH today. He suggested we stop at Goodwill so I could check out the crafts section. Saw mostly non-stamping stuff when I happened to glance up at the top shelf and pulled down the basket that was up there.
There were a whole bunch (30 of them) of SU! containers holding buttons, brads, corduroy buttons, fire/ice brads, dazzling diamonds glitter, and eyelets (2 containers taped together as one). Six of the containers were still sealed; most all of the other packages had only 1-2 pieces missing; a few had a more noticable amount missing. I also found a couple PSX stamps and a 4-roll package of "up & up"/(??Target) washi tape. Everything was a dollar each.
I went to the counter with the basket and spoke with the manager to see if she would be able to give me a large lot/combined-items discount. She said $20 for the lot; I was agreeable.
My order was rang up and I then handed my Goodwill discount card (10% off), and the total came down to $18.00.
After I got home I totaled up everything at the catty price--IT WOULD HAVE COME TO $235.30. After totaling everything, etc, I basically paid 54.5 cents per container/item.
My endolphins (as DH calls them) are still sailin'.

Awwwwww!!! This is almost unbelievable ! Almost brings tears to my eyes. I didn't know Goodwill had a discount card. I buy for things for work at GW. How does it work?

Congrats to the OP for such a great score!
And about the Goodwill discount card, you do have to pay for it, I think it's about $5 for a year at my local Goodwill, but well worth it I think.
Also my Goodwill has Senior Discount day on Wednesday, and you can combine it with the discount card, too.

wow, you got a bargain. I love GW and always walk back to the craft section first.
I went on Monday and it was a madhouse in the parking lot. It turned out that it was 50% off day. I got 4 older SU stamp sets; they are NIP and not even mounted, so they were $3 each. Another shopper got there RIGHT BEFORE me and she had several sets in her cart when I got to the section they were in. Darn. But I am still happy with my goodies.
Wow - I've never been to a Goodwill, I think I need to go!! How old do you have to be to get the "senior" discount?? I'm 62.

It's not actually a senior discount. You can buy a yearly discount card for $10. A few (3?) years ago when I went in, there was a WHOLE TABLE full of SU! stamp sets and 4-5 large baskets of loose stamps. I was able to get everything for $109, which meant that that year's card obviously paid for itself in one fell swoop! You should have seen DH's and DD's eyes when I got home and took out the big bin from my car's trunk.
Then, of course, there are times you go in, time after time, and there's nothing there. It's a crap shoot for sure!

I think your true lucky find was your husband! How many of us would have a husband that would suggest craft shopping, go with us, AND go to a discount store?!?! Score on getting such an awesome hubby!

I once scored a Bind It All Machine at the thrift store. They had it priced for $6.99. Then in the luggage section I found the carry case for $2. Score!!!
Wow! A Bind it all for 6.99 is a great score! I won one once at a crop. I don't think I would have ever bought it for full retail but having it is awesome when I need it.
