Default INK STORAGE

I am wondering how all of you store your ink pads?
I currently have the Color Caddy from SU and have that full with all of the classic pads.
I still want a place to store my Craft Pads and any misc extra colors that I have. I don't want another Caddy because with two of them they would take up too much of my work space.
Well, I found a webiste that had them, it was wooden and narrow so it would fit alone the back of my desk and not take up too much room. I told my dh that is what I wanted for Christmas. so, he called the guy and asked if he could have one shipped...well, apparently he makes these for people as they order them (he is a retired gentelman that just does this for a hobby) he said that he has a few more to make so if we still wanted one it was going to be awhile before he can start it :(
I am desperate now and so want one for Christmas. Do any of you have any good ideas???

I don't have as many ink pads as you do, but I've been looking at those wooden storage units. They look awesome! Did yours have the holes for refills and markers? I wish my stamping area could be that organized, LOL!

I have two of the Ink Pad Palaces from www.motherrubber.com. (Here's a direct link: http://www.motherrubber.com/InkPadPalace.html) They are relatively inexpensive, easy to assemble, and can be decorated with your favorite stamp set! You can fit 4 SU! ink pads in each shelf, 2 stacked together on each side. A refill or two would fit in the space between the stacks.

My only complaint is that the IP2s is that they are just a tad small for SU! ink pads. To get 4 in a shelf, they have to point outward so that the color name shows...but then about an inch of the pads hangs over the edge. But for $16 for one unit (with shipping...unit price would be less if you ordered more at one time) you can't go wrong.

HTH, and let us know what you decide to get!

Thanks, Janine, for your review of the Ink Pad Palace. I have been considering getting one of those, but was concerned about the SU pads being too big. Sounds like you make it work. Can't beat that price for ink storage!

Smile ink storage

i bought the su caddy and do not like it as well as the cassette holder.
It is a large one that you can mount to the wall. It is only about 3 inches deep i think...i had put the older ink pads upside down in there and wrote the name on back side of pad. the new ones have to be put in end first. don't fit as well. I would be using it now, but i just redid my room and no wall space and just spent the $$ for the new caddy. I would not buy caddy again....hind site is always 20/20. Some people swear by it...

I bought the color caddy and just wasn't completely impressed by it and I think it's kinda pricy too. So, I went to IKEA and got 4 of the Stakebo DVD storage units and mounted them to my wall. I can now store 68 ink pads for just $20 and I traded my color caddy! Unfortunately, they do not sell this product online... only in the IKEA store. But, you can go to the website and view the product just to see if you're interested. Hope you find something that works well for you!

I like the one at sixxle.com that is made of wood and holds 30 pads and ribbon too! Does anyone have that one? Anyone use this company?

I use the SU Quad by Wisconsin Stamp Supply. It holds 56 SU pads, so you can include your neutrals and/or older colors. You can stack two on top of each other for both the craft & classic collections. It's also somewhat customizeable in that you can order marker holders, shelves, and pockets to fit in the corners to hold additional supplies. There's a hollow space in the middle I use to hold my paper towel roll.

The biggest downside is that it holds all the pads stacked on top of one another, so if you want to remove one at the bottom, you need to brace the pads above so they don't tumble out, too. Well, that and the fact it costs just as much as the SU caddy! So far it's been very sturdy.

I just posted about this somewhere else LOL
IKEA has a "Stackebo" DVD holder--IT IS AWESOME FOR SU ink pads!!! They are only $6 each and you can wall mount them- It holds 17. I love it!
