I agree, excellent choice but at $7.95 for 10 sheets, it is going to be expensive. I would like to find something a little more cost effective. Other suggestions? An online store or Staples or Office Depot?
mstokes117.....Check out Paper Source and Paper Direct. I especially like Paper Source, there stuff is so nice. Paper Source does have some actual stores in various states also. I'd love to visit their store, but the nearest one to me would be in D.C. and that's a drive from NJ just to go shopping. Paper Direct is all internet. I've done a lot of business with both of these companies and am totally satisfied with each!
There are lots of great options, depending on what you want: matte, gloss, shimmer, metallic. Then, do you want smooth or textured... endless possibilities. But, for my money, I go with Cougar Opaque in White or Natural. It is very smooth, so it works great for printing or stamping. You can buy this online or probably from a local printing/paper supplier. Good luck!
Another vote for Paper Source, they have a website www.paper-source.com. If you have a location near you I would suggest checking them out. They carry a huge selection of colors of paper in all sizes and shapes, as well as envelopes and ribbon to match. They also have alot of specialty paper to chose from.
They have a great selection, and all kinds of colors, textures, paper weights, etc. They also have matching envelopes and cheap and quick shipping! I used them for making my wedding invitations. Also check out their sample packs.
Not sure if you know your design yet, but it also may be beneficial to see how much paper you will need for what style. I made pocketfold invitations, and ended up using large charcoal paper for the base (Canson Mi Tientes), which I cut down to get 5 invitations out of. They sell it in Mikes/AC Moore, but I found it cheaper at CheapJoes.com (the price goes down the more you order) It was just more economical then 8.5x11.
Good luck with your invites! It is a lot of work, but its nice to have something custom created that you absolutely love. My advice is just to start as early as possible!
Hmm... I'd definitely choose PTI white first because it is firm and crisp and professional-looking. If you're thinking more about a shimmery card stock, WorldWin Petallics is also top-notch. Plus, I know that the Petallics are laser printer-compatible! The shimmer on those babies is PHENOMENAL, too!
I dont know how the quality is but on weddingbee.com they use paper from paper-source.com and the invitations they make are beautiful. It seems very affordable too. A lot of people are using their goccos to make them though instead of printing them on a printer.
Hello! I know I'm a bit late in replying, but I just came across this thread, and wanted to share. I recently made wedding invitations for my mom's wedding (printing the details on the inside and stamping on the front - pic of the front, just to give you an idea of what the final product looked like) with cards/envelopes I found at Target. They are 8.5" x 11", pre-scored and perforated, so the final card size is 4.25" x 5.5"... and they are a very heavy cardstock, which was nice. I got a pack of 100 [cards and 100 envelopes] for $9.99, which I thought was very reasonable. (I think they were on sale, and the original price is $14.99, but don't hold me to that!) Looks like the brand is hot hues (thinkhothues.com). Anyway... I just wanted to share this because they were fantabulous to work with. Good luck, and happy wedding invitation making!

Here is one more place for you to give a look see. At www.envelopperinc.com they have a catalog and will give you 5 samples free from that catalog so you can touch and feel their products. I used their Classic Crest Matte paper and envelopes for some invites. Very nice.
