A few days ago I found (I think in what are you making for Christmas thread) a recipe for lotion or hand cream. Used Vaseline maybe baby oil ???? I have looked and searched but I give up. I hope one of you can lead me to the recipe and let me thank you NOW!!
Thanks, This seems to be much like the one I am looking for. The person who posted it said she made it an the girls at her workplace are asking for more. So I thought it must be good. Thanks again

i know EXACTLY what you're looking for - i saw the thread and subscribed to it as i'll be making the lotion for gifts this year.
here's the post.
Same ingredients, different amounts...with that much Vaseline, I bet it's really thick! The stuff I received was more the consistency of a good hand cream. I think I might have to play around with the amounts!
Great post...with winter just around the corner I am remembering that dried out feeling! : Any ideas for other containers? We haven't see baby food jars here in a long time!

in the other thread, there was talk of using the small Ball canning jars. - found at walmart.
Thanks Cat! I should've looked there. I even have some now that I think of it! My Mom makes homemade wild raspberry jam and I save the jars for "refills".

i do the SAME thing - my sister cans, and so does a friend. i usually return the jars tho - i still might have to buy some that other thread also noted that you can purchase plastic lids for the jars [instead of the metal ones]. good luck.
I would guess that you could add a couple of drops of essential oil. I don't do much with essential oils, so I don't really know much about them, but I'd think that wherever you'd buy them could tell you how much (one or two drops?), etc. That's a good idea!
I was excited to find this thread. I live in the Northeast and winters can be awful. I picked up the ingredients for the cream and tried it out. I like it alot. it's creamy, fragrant and locks in the moisture. I found some metal bathroom containers at walmart several months ago and put the cream in that. now it is sitting on my scraproom desk so i remember to put some on.
