Robin, I also feel your pain. My DH and I moved 5 times in the first 10 months we were married.
I hated to pack up all my crafting goodies every time, but I did get really good at packing. I knew exactly which boxes had my goodies in them and when all the boxes were unloaded from the truck they were the first boxes I took into the new place. I did unpack the kids stuff and the kitchen stuff first, but then it was on to my goodies while kids were napping.
I wish I lived closer to give you a helping hand but all I can do is
hope your move is safe and smooth. Happy Holidays.

We have moved a lot my husband is in the Air Force, right now at Hurlburt, we are almost neighbors. I'd come help you but I don't want to drive on 98 this time of day and I'd have to bring my three boyz negetaing any real help. Still it would be fun.
Here's and idea you can take or leave: Don't pack your current catalog and you can still create in your mind. When we evacuated from Ivan I had my catalog with me and I got lost in it one time when I needed a vacation.
I hope your move goes smoothly and you make new stamping friends soon. Are you a demo? I have a friend who is a good Stampin Up demo there is you need one.
Purplewinkle - Yes I am a demonstrator but would still love to know any other demonstrators or stampers/scrapbookers in Virginia! My husband will be gone until May so it will just be me and my 4 years old son.
Sending you a virtual kleenex! Any chance you could keep out one favorite color book type set, a black ink pad, white cardstock, stamp cleaning supplies and something to color with (ie. colored pencils, markers or pastels)? That way when you need a break you could stamp a few images and enjoy coloring them in. And, then when you have your new area set up you'll have colored images ready to be made into cards.
I feel the pain....truly! I haven't been able to stamp since the 1st of December (hurried to finish the last xmas cards!)...and can't until the 26th. That's the longest I've been without a stamp in one hand and inkpad in the other!
I can't wait for Christmas to be over (I know that sounds sad!) so I can get back at it!!
I hope you find some new stampin' friends really quickly ~ and I'm sure you will!!

Robin,
I too feel your pain! I have already started packing up my "craft room"...
Our packers will be here the 12th and they also are not going to touch MY stuff!! We are going to be pulling a uhaul to carry it all! I am just not very trusting that they will take good care of it!! My stuff will also be sitting for a bit while we find a place to live in Texas Hope it does not take too long!!!
Best of luck with your move - Virginia is a nice place - lots to see and do! It will be different than FL but still good!!
Hang in there!!

Hi Robin -
I understand your pain too. I have to agree with Cardsbyanita - keep out one or two versatile set of stamps, an ink pad, pencils or pastels and some cardstock. Also maybe a baggie of colored cardstock and some envelopes. You may need to have some "therapy" before your craft area gets set up. And your catalog.
Just enough to help you relax and unwind at the end of the day. Makes for better sleeping at night.
Can't wait for you to be settled in Virginia. Such a pretty state. Where abouts in the state will you be located?
Just unpack and set up your computer first!!! That way you can stay in touch with SCS'ers

Robin, it's a sad day for you, but a happy day for me ... I get to meet you soon!!!!
Welcome to Hampton Roads, girl! Once you get into town, if you need to stamp, you can give me a call and come on over ... though you might have to clean my craft room first, in order to find anything! :P
Robin ... email me when you arrive! ([email protected]). I live in Norfolk and conduct a monthly demo meetings for all area demos the fourth Monday of the month! We'd love to have you. I've lived here most of my life and love this area! We'll try to make you feel at home here!
Let me know if you any questions or need anything!
*L* 1400 pounds! I aspire to that level I hope your space is organized or at least set up sooner than you think.
It's funny about you not letting the movers touch your stamp stuff. My mom has one of those 15 drawer craftsman tool chests for her stamps and she had a hard time getting the movers to understand that it didn't belong in the garage, but went upstairs *L*.
