Ummm, Julia, you can still see our grass through the 1/2" of snow! LOL!!! But it is not cancelled for the snow, but for the 1/2" of ice under teh snow!!!
Brrr!!! That is cold! I know we sound wimpy, but considering the last icy day was Feb 2003 (last snow day we had) people here have NO clue how to drive on ice/snow and there are wrecks all over the place. I guess it is just from not having experience on snow/ice and not having any kind of equipment on their vehicles.... they showed a girl on the news using her credit card to scrape her windows! LOL
Credit cards work well for scraping ice on car windows, but here in MA we enjoy finding the "best" snow scraper each year - with all the snow we got last year our snowbrushes (the other part of the scraper for all of you sunbunnies!) are a bit worn out. Ah, another excuse to go shopping!
Enjoy your snow, but as Julia said, be super careful on that ice. Best to just stay home and stamp! We're expecting 3-6" tomorrow (since we are on the coast) - just in time for the holiday parties I have to attend this weekend. We'll see!
YEAH!!! No work today! No school today!!! The kids and I plan on vegging out. I'm in north TX and we let the dogs outside this morning and my one dogs did the splits on the ice!!! The kids were LOL!!!!
I'm off to play GO FISH then hope to do the challenge for today!!
We lived in Missouri and Indiana prior to Texas and actually had real winters, so we know the drill, but I can TOTALLY see some of our Texas-native neighbors doing that! LOL!!!!
A shadow stamp like little shapes, big shapes, any solid stamp like that... shapes and shadows is more of a shape stamp, kwim?
The images in Little Layers that go behind the real images... those are shadows....
thanks for the clarification! No snow day here today but it is still only -3 -- won't go out at all if we don't have to... oh the joys of being a sahm!

LOL!! Yesterday when we had frost on the windshield we sat there waiting for the defroster to kick in and my dd said "Mommy why dont you just use your credit card to scrape the window like you did last time" ;) That girl does not forget a thing!!!!

What a great idea! The snow hasn't started here, yet. But I know the weather forecaster is right about 5-8 inches because I have a whopper of a migraine. My co-workers call me the walking barometer.
If we really do have a snow day tomorrow and my migraine subsides, I'm playing with my stamps! Thanks for the challenges!

Kimberly,
It's not so much that people don't know how to drive in the stuff (although that's part of it), but because you so seldom have that kind of weather, the road crews aren't equipped to deal with it -- salt & plows.
I've lived in WI my whole life & know all about snow piles on the corners that you can't see around to tell if another car is coming.
Have fun playing in the sno.. I mean stamps! Maybe I'll have time to join in later.
