or does anyone else find that they come up with a lot of their own card designs when they are stressed out and are stamping to keep their minds occupied?!
I've been in my office/stamping room all day, finishing up a baby shower gift (I'll upload pics to my gallery tomorrow), and having trying to keep my mind occupied. (To make a long story very short, my mom's days are winding down and I could get the call at any time that she's gone....:()
Anyway---I'm coming up with all sorts of neat ideas.....;) My mind seems like it's going 100 miles an hour, with things to do!!!

So sorry to hear about your mom, I have been there several years ago and it is one of the sadest days ever, but I know exactly what you mean by the ideas. I did not stamp at the time when I lost my mom, but I sure found lots of other projects to make in plastic canvas during those days and did a lot of cleaning. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Emily.
Bless your heart! Yes, stress and worry can bring out the creativity in us. Are you close (in proximity) to your mom? Can you share these things with her?
When my mom was in her final days, I had no outlet.. had not yet discovered my artistic voice. Every day now, I wish I could share what I do with her. Sometimes I pretend I am. It makes me feel better, anyway!

I read somewhere that anything that gets us into a "zone", where we let go of the constant buzz in our heads and focus on an activity it is very soothing and healing and sends those feel good chemicals shooting around our brains! I know when I create cards I do get into that zone and time will fly by.
I lost my mom in my mid-twenties...it was unexpected and sudden. My prayers are with you.....Take care of yourself during this stressful and sorrowful time.

Hugs to you!!
Yes, I'm about 20 minutes away, but honestly, it's harder (emotionally) right now to see her. I know that sounds terrible, but the mom I've known all of my life is gone--Alzheimers is a HORRIBLE thing.
I cry, stamp and create, cry, etc.......if there is a silver lining in this, at least I'm making cards for someone to enjoy later!!
Ahhh! I just finished my memoir about my mother and Alzheimer's!! She is in the last stage and we are waiting too. I feel for you girl! I wrote a funny and somewhat sarcastic memoir but the episodes with Alzheimer's are kinda' the same with all of us. My mom is 85 and in Houston in a memory care unit. I have 2 sisters close by. she has those good days but more and more her memory is gone.
here is my blog but fair warning--it is kinda' sassy but my family laughs their backsides off at it...go the the very first post for Chapter 1 of 25 chapters...yes, I know, it is a novel! And, it was the best therapy for me ever. You should think about doing it!

you can talk to me anytime...
Mom's 87, with advanced Alzheimers, SEVERE diabetes, bad heart, has had several mini-strokes..........she's nearby, in Garland, TX, at an assisted living unit...
It just makes me sooo incredibly sad...I'm the youngest and the only girl.
I go right through there on my way to Winnsboro to scrap. Yeah, I know, I drive 2 hours to do scrap book stuff but heck, her shop is great. Keep in touch. I will always be here if you need a shoulder!
I just came across this thread and wanted to send my warm thoughts to you during this very difficult time. My Mom is in her late 70's and I worry about the time when I am facing what you are. I will send a little prayer to you. Stamp away, feel those endorphins for a little while. May you have strength and peace. Thinking of you. Kathy
(((Lyndie))) I'm so sorry. I know waiting is so, so hard. I think the bursts of creativity are a blessing that is intended to help you get through hard times.
bless your heart....we lost my hubbys dad to alzheimers a couple years ago and it was very painful to watch the decline both physically and mentally. I will keep you in my prayers...
blessings.
